“Langoustines plentiful and tasty”
Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

Stopped in here for dinner one afternoon (dinner being at dinner time I.e 12:00pm). They had langoustines in two proton sizes £15 and £25. Since I was on holiday I pushed to boat out and spoiled myself in the larger portion, it was simple and excellent, 12 large langoustines.

“Summer isles hotel poor value”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

We booked to eat in the less formal bar area. There were no other diners. There was no atmosphere as no music was played. The order was incorrectly taken, but checked and corrected. Not all sea food options were available. The portion size was tiny! We all returned home and had to eat at home, as we were still a little hungry. The vegetarian option was so meagre, about a third of an aubergine! Salmon with beans, there were two beans! And prawn risotto, was one langoustine on a pile of rice with maybe a couple of very small prawns in the rice. Expensive and disappointing.

“Post-half marathon opulence”
Reviewed 27 December 2013

After the 2nd Coigach half marathon, I wanted to treat my wife and brother/sister-in-law to a slap-up meal. We dressed up for the occasion and had a glass of champagne in the wee living room area - some lovely art on show from Gerry Irvine and co. We were taken through to the restaurant for a 5-course meal although there were plenty of amuse bouche and others to enjoy during the course of the meal. This wasn't eating, it was a taste extravaganza and the ox cheek was simply beautiful, falling apart but full of flavour. The restaurant is one of the hardest to get to on the mainland but it is worth every effort. We chose a Sauvignon blanc with our meal and it was very zingy but still smooth. We retired afterwards for petits fours but I was ready for bursting. A dram and an end to a perfect day.

“Wonderful food and service”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

Visted for an evening meal without a reservation and a young kind New Zealander made space in the restaurant for a lone traveller providing attentive service complimented by the most tasty spicy crab pasta with lime and chilli, ever, such a huge portion .Was surrounded by people enjoying langostines and huge plates of beautifully presented fish, most impressed by the quantity of fresh ingredients and the quality .Hugely enjoyable meal would eat there every night if possible.

“Location, location, location... but remote!”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

Great location in a very special part of the UK. Enjoy stunning and uninterrupted views from the hotel out over the Summer Isles. The hotel is comfortable, with small public rooms being the only downside. We stayed in one of their cottages/houses behind the hotel which form a great base to tour the area and enjoy the elevated position above the hotel. Food in both the restaurant and the bar/pub are good. It is remote though........

We would like to thank you for your kind supportive feedback and are pleased that you enjoyed your trip to Achiltibuie, We are indeed remote, our Oasis here in the Highlands is famous for View’s, Tranquillity and Scenery most people come for this very reason. Sometimes it’s nice to be removed from the normal bustle of everyday life.
We hope you return soon
