Spent Three days here recently. It was very good value. The superior room was of modest size but everything worked well.

The food at dinner and breakfast was delicious.

iPod music in the beautiful octagonal dining room ,however, was lacking in imagination. Background music was exactly the same tracks in the mornings as had been played the previous evening at dinner. Music was quite appropriate for dinner. It really didn't fit breakfast.

We came here for a 3 night break through a deal from groupon. Cannot fault one thing. Warm and fabulous welcome when we first arrived even took our suitcase to our room. Had dinner in the restaurant on the first night and it was just 5* star treatment. Beautiful food and amazing service. Partner swore by the haggis and black pudding for his full breakfast in the morning. Plenty of option for breakfast too. Room was spacious with garden view. Went for a walk to the near by rogie falls (unless your keen walkers then take the car) trip to ullapool too. We had a 2 hour power cut but was no problem the staff were still as attentive as ever. It did cause a problem to the boiler and there was no hot water in the morning but by the afternoon was fixed. I would definitely recommend this hotel or even restaurant by far and would love to come back.

Just back from a 3 night stay at Coul House Hotel. We were all made very welcome, including our dog who loved running around the grounds and all the walks around the hotel as well as all of the strokes from the staff! . The hotel has kept a lot of it's quirky original features but it is deck out to a very high standard. The room was spacious and clean, we had a garden view room which was lovely. The food deserves a review of it's own - exquisite! Excellent selection of hot and cold food for breakfast and the dinner menu was varied and every dish freshly prepared to a very high standard - non of this 'looks nice but you're still hungry' - it looked nice, tasted nice and I was stuffed!! The staff were friendly and tentative but not over powering we felt extremely well looked after - even during the North of Scotland power cut!!

We had a midweek 3 night stay as a couple at Coul House Hotel.. We found the hotel warm and inviting with hospitable, hard working staff. The grounds of the hotel are stunning and offer lots of walking space and interesting garden areas. The hotel itself is old, giving a traditional feel, matching the feel of our room.
The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was powerful and all facilities that we required were available. The wifi was reliable throughout the hotel.

The hotel offers a varied menu traditional to Scotland, as well as a VERY well stocked bar. There is a shop and petrol station within walking distance too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Coul House Hotel.

Room Tip: We had a mountain view room which was quiet and offered beautiful views of the gardens and mountains...

Stayed here at the weekend for a 2 night break. The house is stunning and the owners obviously know how to look after their guests. This is the nicest place we have ever stayed. Everything about it is just so right. This is an old house with many quirky features. It is far and away better than higher rated properties. Order a coffee and it comes with slices of homemade shortbread and homemade Scottish tablet. Staff are first class. It's easy ti underestimate how much hard work goes into looking after guests in a hotel. The phrase 'if you need anything, just ask' is not just a throwaway comment in this hotel. We were there on a Spring deal but I can easily see why you would be prepared to pay the rack rate. The food is delicious. Also, if you want to add, or to leave something out, of a dish this is no problem. All cooked to order from the best ingredients. On our first morning we had the full breakfast. Every part of this was delicious, the black pudding and haggis especially so for us. On the second morning we selected the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. We asked if we could have a slice of black pudding and haggis with this. Commented to the waitress that this must seem a bit odd. The response was 'No! It's whatever you enjoy'. We wouldn't usually feel comfortable making such a request but Coul House makes you feel so at home and so comfortable. During our stay we took a drive up to Ullapool and on up to see the Summer Isles off Achiltibuie. Found a bar called Am Fuaran, run by a family for decades. We had hand dived scallops for starters and creel caught langoustine. This drive has breathtaking scenery, if you follow satnav to Am Fuaran you will see one of the most beautiful beaches off to your right before the first small village you come to. I could go on and on about our trip but finally I must say that I cannot believe how much of a delight, and privilege it was to spend time at Coul House. We hope to return.

Stayed here recently for a course. Loved the open fireplace in reception. Nice bar. My room was small but beautifully furnished. Liked having a tea pot, along with all the ingredients for tea/coffee.hot chocolate. Shower was okay. The food was delicious, lots of choice for cooked breakfast.
