“A must visit in Cromarty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

A great place to stop in Cromarty for an unhurried tea/coffee and a browse around the large collection of new and used books and now an interesting selection of potential gifts or little treasures.

Free biscuits, soothing music and helpful service.

“Great”

Popped in for coffee which was great and left with a pile of amazingly priced books, top notch, free biscuits, coffee in cafe there and they made it strong as requested.

“We called again for more coffee”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2012

A few years ago, one wet Sunday morning we discovered this bookshop, coffee place, treasure container, and browsed undisturbed for a long time with coffee to hand and a choice of both secondhand and new books. Each year we have returned and never left emptyhanded. This year we brought away a beautifully crafted bowl from a Cromarty artist and lovely cards and book too.
We enjoyed excellent conversation with other visitors whilst again we sipped filter coffee and nibbled scrumptious biscuits in the process. Always new finds!

“Find some gems”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2012

Brilliant little place that is a must visit if you come to Cromarty. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee whilst checking out the second hand books. I have found one or two gems on the shelves. The cards are good too.

“So much more than just a bookshop!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 December 2010

To call the Emporium a bookshop is so misleading, there is so much more. An excellent range of wonderful fresh coffees and a never ending list of different teas are only surpassed by the legendary hot chocolate which is the talk of Cromarty. All at great value prices (including super biscuits!) in a coffee shop surrounded by endless shelves of second-hand books, a reader's delight! Jewellery, toys and gifts fill the rest of this alladin's cave of a shop in the historic town of Cromarty, with a strong emphasis on supporting local artists and craftworkers. Open 7 days a week (6 in the winter) the staff at the Emporium will always attempt to give you that little bit more when it comes to service. Local bus times, directions, places to stay & eat or just a local's phone number, nothing is too much trouble. Visiting Cromarty? Then go to the Emporium. You will not be disappointed.
