Minch View is a lovely cottage, towards the north end of the road through Shieldaig. It does seem to have the best position in the village, and around midsummer we saw some amazing sunsets over the Minch.
The cottage is surprisingly large and very comfortable for five, although with only one bathroom. It is extremely well furnished and equipped, and was very well prepared. There is a large rear garden with a lawned area and a barbecue. Ceilings are on the low side, so watch your head!
Shieldaig is a very friendly village (off the main road) with excellent local facilities and activities - we included sea-kayaking with Tom and sailing out into Loch Torridon and the Minch with Julian and Jane (who runs the local pottery). On both occasions we saw the sea-eagles that nest on the island. There's also an excellent coffee shop. I recommend walking out to the headland for views of Loch Torridon. Applecross and Torridon are within easy reach.
We had the best holiday for years here (helped by the exceptional July 2018 sunshine) and would love to return.
