Excellent b&b lovely clean comfortable rooms with the added bonus of toiletries supplied. Very friendly hosts who make you feel very welcome. Fresh coffee is available from coffee machine on the landing as well as chocolates. Breakfast is very unusual but made a lovely change from a fry up as well as cereal, fresh fruit and home made bread very tasty

We stayed here on our way back from Orkney. The guest house is expensive but the house and rooms are decorated to a very high standard with large rooms, huge comfy beds and very modern en suite facilities. The fresh coffee machine on the landing scored high as I hate instant coffee. The chocolate wafers were also great. There is also a huge collection of DVDs to suit all tastes for guests to choose from and watch in their rooms.
The breakfast was great including the homemade oat bread. Rhona and Michael also run a coffee
shop and whisky shop ( Celtic Spirits) on the main street which are also recommended and reviewed separately.

Great hospitality - one of the best breakfasts I have had.
Forget any of the hotels. Flew a long way for a wedding and was not expecting much so was very pleasantly surprised at the level of comfort.
A real effort on the food which was fantastic.

Linnmhor was our third B&B on our trip to Scotland, and was recommended by Secret Scotland. Rhona and Michael, the hosts, clearly love what they do, and we had a wonderful stay. The room was lovely with beautiful decor and furniture including the most comfortable bed ever.
We had booked for dinner, and were greeted by a roaring fire in the dining room which we sat beside with a glass of wine while we waited for our meal to be freshly cooked for us. Rhona is an excellent cook and we enjoyed pea and cucumber soup, a beautifully tender venison stroganoff with rice, asparagus and sugar snap peas, and tiramisu - all delicious. We sat by the fire afterwards chatting with Michael.
We came down in the morning to another cosy fire and an interesting and unusual breakfast menu - a refreshing change from the usual B&B offerings. We had a lovely selection of fruit followed by a superb kedgeree and home-made oat bread.
Michael also put us on track for a lovely local walk, and helped us plan the next leg of our tour. All in all, a very special and memorable stay.

When we drove up to Linnmhor House, I was worried that I had made a big mistake in booking, as the exterior looked a little shabby and the garden looked a bit like a building site.

However, the whole experience exceeded my expectations. The room was more like a boutique hotel than a B and B: the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom sumptuous and there was a walk-in wardrobe. There was fresh milk on the landing for morning tea/coffee - and a coffee maker.

The breakfasts were excellent and very different from the standard B and B fare. I had an excellent kedgeree and my husband tried the scrambled egg one morning and the black pudding the other - all delicious. There was also a huge selection of fresh fruit.

Rona and Mike were friendly and knowledgeable about the area and made us feel very welcome.

We stayed here for our first night on a touring trip to the north of Scotland and Orkney. Beautiful house, with great furnishings and decor. Welcoming hosts and a wonderful breakfast to send us on our way. Would not hesitate to return for a longer stay. There are not a lot of eating places in Strathpeffer, the main one was closed on a Monday, Rona recommended The Coul Country House Hotel which was a couple of miles away, she organised the booking for us, it was a fabulous place with great food, we had a lovely first night.

Room Tip: Both double rooms are stunning.

The Linnmhor house is in a beautiful tranquil setting and felt like being at home. The owners are very welcoming and helpful and we enjoyed discussing Scotland and history with them. The breakfasts are delicious, beautifully laid out with a fire in the fireplace, fresh fruit, homemade cereals, cooked breakfasts and wonderful oatmeal bread. Mackenzies Coffee Shop within walking distance also has excellent healthy food. A wonderful place to stay!
