“An A mazing Surprise on The Cat's Back”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

We walked Knockfarrell on the Saturday and encountered the Maze. I know that it is a modern construction but it is based on an ancient concept using stones from all over Scotland

“Eagles Stone”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

A very pleasant town. This town has charm all its own with its converted train station and small shops. A must is the small jewelry shop next to the grocery store. The owner was a very nice lady. To find the Eagle Rock follow the signs. A little off the beaten path.

“My Favourite Labyrinth”
Reviewed 11 July 2013

This beautiful labyrinth is tucked comfortably and artfully into a clearing in the forest above Strathpeffer. Created from stones from around Scotland, it marks the movements of the sun from season to season, and offers a meandering and contemplative walk for hikers and pilgrims alike.

“Local maze”
Reviewed 22 April 2013

I often walk to or past this maze through the network of forrest paths that run from Strathpeffer over the hill of Knockfarrel. The maze is very unusual and great fun for small kids for hide and seek (my neices love to play it here). It is also very interesting to learn about the different stones that are there and how they are arranged. You can do a short walk from the Blackmuir wood car park to the maze or you can carry on up the hill to knockfarrel which has the most fantastic views from there you can walk on to Dingwall, or back to Strathpeffer either the way you came or over the ridge which has a very unusual stone monument on it. Worth a walk to if you are visiting Strathpeffer
