I went with a relative whose portrait was one of a few included in an exhibition of mostly landscape pictures. I am not a frequent visitor to art galleries by any means but I was very taken by the way the works were set out in a newly refurbished building alongside a conventional shop type space.
This exhibition featured just one artist for a three week show so presumably there is always something new to see. Some of the mountain landscapes were stunning and many had been sold so even though Tain is quite remote the gallery must get good support.
Even if the pictures are not to your taste it is worth visiting the gallery to see how for example the original roof slates have been used on edge to face a wall giving it a lovely texture.
