“Hands-down favorite of out entire Scotland trip.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2010

It's a good thing we saved this for the end of our trip - otherwise we would have been comparing everything else to this and everything else would have been lacking. This is an incredible hotel, beautiful location, landscaping, gardens. The staff treats you like the Queen, the rooms are very well appointed, nice size, great beds and a very nice bath. Breakfast was great - the only place we found Eggs Benedict the entire trip. We didn't have dinner in the hotel but opted for the Bistro next door which was very good. We had planned on hiking in the general area but once we arrived, we decided to just enjoy the grounds and hotel - it was a great choice. Would love to be able to spend a week here. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a luxury experience in a beautiful setting - definitely worth the money.

Thanks’ for taking the time to review The Torridon; we are delighted you enjoyed your eggs Benedict, as well as your room and the hotel in general, especially the grounds which are as nice a place as any to spend your day. We look forward to welcoming you back to The Torridon in the future.

My new husband and I stayed at the Torridon for (unfortunately) just the first night of our honeymoon through the highlands and islands. We received an upgrade because of the occasion and the room was beautiful, newly refurbished with beautiful views over the loch and mountains with a lovely welcoming congratulatory note. We had a couple of drinks in the gorgeous old whiskey bar and a good natter with the barmaid, who was extremely friendly, and Coleen, the duty manager, again extremely friendly and this whiled away a great couple of relaxing hours. We went for a meal and the barmaid was also our waitress, again, really pleasant and efficient. We couldn't fault the meal in any way, the food was amazing, the wine list superb and the service excellent. The same was to be said of breakfast the next morning, wonderful cooked breakfast and salmon with eggs - it's good to know where in the country the products are sourced from and excellent to see so many local suppliers. All in all a superb stay, wish we were staying a few more nights! Don't miss this hotel!

Stayed at the torridon for a night in june 2010. The first thing that apparent was how personable the staff were. The service was definately 5 star. On the same trip we stayed at 2 other 5 star hotels (cameron house and stobo castle) and by far the torridons service was the best.

The room we stayed in was a little on the small side but was comfortable and clean.

We wanted an informal dinner so ate at the bistro restaurant. The food was very nice, decent sized portions and very reasonable prices.

Breakfast was excellent. The service again was excellent.

The views from the hotel are amazing. The loch and mountains are just was you expect from the highlands.

The hotel also has lots of activities and advice to give to its guests. Although we didnt take part, we saw other guest enjoying archery lessons and guided walks.

If you are in the area and looking for a hotel that offers a five star experience the torridon is for you!

This was our 2nd time that we had stayed at The Torridon. The 1st time we stayed here we both thought that it was the best hotel ever and we have stayed in a few!!!!
So when we went back for a 2 night stay over valentines weekend we wondered if it would be just as magical as our 1st stay????
After a long day hillwalking in the Torridon mountains we arrived at the hotel and drove up the splendid drive way which added to the excitement. As soon as we walked into the hotel we new this was going to be another special weekend.
The torridon area is my favourite mountain range and we look forward on returning here time and time again.
The whole place is Magical, from the food, staff, the rooms, service to the highland cows outside. It won't be too long before we return in the very near future.

The Torridon is, without doubt, the ideal hotel for a relaxed and recuperative break. The staff are first class and the welcome and care were excellent. The views of the loch and mountains are spectacular. The breakfasts and dinners are amazing, the chef uses local products and presents them beautifully. (Note the extreme adjectives! All very well deserved)
We have stayed in some special hotels but this is by far the best ever.

Just returned from a fantastic stay at The Torridon. Orignally booked for a 2 night break with friends but it was so good we stayed an extra night. On arrival both couples were upgraded to rooms with loch and mountain views. The rooms themselves were opulently decorated with rich furnishings and cosy goose down duvets. The bathroom had a view of the highland cows next to the hotel - with 4 baby cows.
The service at the hotel was fantastic - friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much effort. The 5 course meals were also exceptional - a full gourmet experience. Overall this was a great trip - the hotel, although about an hour or so from Inverness is in a stunning location, great for touring the Applecross peninsula and easy trips to Skye.
This is a relaxing, get away from it all hotel where good food and scenery is in abundance. Watch out for the 80 seater mobile cinema (RBS ScreenMachine Take 2) which visited the Torridon whilst we were there!

The warmth of welcome from the log fires and the staff (we have come to think of as friends) immediately relaxed us into our Torridon routine. A quick unpack in 'our room' (as we have come to think of it) and off to afternoon tea to meet our fellow guests - re acquainting with familiar faces and getting to know others.
Christmas at Toridon is special, the staff are fantastic - as always nothing is too much trouble. The food is wonderful and the scenery this year was extra special - it has only taken 6 visits to have Christmas in the snow ! could we be lucky enough to be snowed in?? we can but pray... Looking forward to this year.
