We stayed for 5 nights in early July in the Papa Stour room. To be honest our stay didn't start well with half-a-dozen loud, drunk (presumably) oil workers 'occupying' the garden, shouting and breaking glasses - not pleasant.
Good points - As so many others have said, the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to help (if I was rating on that alone it would be 5 stars). We went for the 4-course restaurant meals each night and the food was very good and the service excellent. Breakfasts likewise were all you needed, served when you wanted and set you up for the day.
Bad points - for the price, the room was very small and the bathroom was sorely in need of renovation. A great view from the little window but not worth three figures per night. As mentioned at the start, the hotel does see a fair number of workers from Sullom Voe etc. and these people do not seem to be able to behave appropriately - foul language in the car park, personal radios blaring in the breakfast room, rudeness to the staff, and so on. I realise they probably make a significant contribution to the finances of the hotel - but I can't help thinking that the odd reminder about respecting other guests (and the staff) wouldn't go amiss.
Overall, I would recommend a stay, just don't expect too much.
