A lovely little cottage in a very central position and easy to locate, and ample parking. Very clean and well equipped. The breakfast was a great surprise. Thank you for a great stay would definitely use again
We had a really relaxing weekend at the Old Sweetie Shop in Cross Hill. The cottage is clean tidy and inviting it is also dog friendly. The owner made us very welcome abd even provided us with breakfast. We would definitely stay there again
Crosshills was a quite village well away from the hurley burly. Clean comfortable 2 room cottage with all facilities, including a welcome pack. Wireless was provided but not a very good signal. Unfortunately the pub/restaurant in the village had shutdown, but there was a selection in nearby Maybole.
We stayed at the Old Sweetie Shop cottage for 4 very cold, frosty days in January . We visited The Galloway Forest Park, Culzean Castle grounds, the Burns Museum and House and we did a couple of the walking trails in nearby Straiton. The cottage was a very cosy and comfortable base to come back to each day. Stephen has ensured that it is very well equipped with all the basic things you need - butter, bread, eggs salt, pepper, oil, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, shampoo, etc etc. We had dinner at the Kirkmichael Arms and the food was very good indeed and not spoiled by the ubiquitous frozen chips. We were served fabby, crispy hand cooked chips, yum! Crosshill is a small rural village but al the shops you need are a short drive away in Maybole.
We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return in the better weather when we can enjoy a wee glass of wine in the nice seating area out the back! Thanks Stephen.
Lovely cottage for quiet weekend away. Not much in the actual village but plenty nearby if you fancy 5-10min drive. The cottage itself is fully equipped with everything you need, plus very comfortable bed and sofa bed for cosying up to watch some films ( also some supplied). All in all would recommend this cottage for a chill few days.
Two night stay for wedding less than a mile away, so ideally situated. Met our needs perfectly. Owner communications thorough, prompt and helpful. Breakfast pack in fridge also ideal and much appreciated. Accommodation is clean and contains everything needed for a short stay. Would definitely recommend and would return if staying in the area. Note however that the village pub is no more so if you want to eat out, you have to travel a few miles. We ate in the Kirkmichael Arms, an £8.50 taxi journey away and it was excellent.
