“So warm & cosy - just love it”
Reviewed 28 November 2011

Just back from a lovely peaceful weekend - nothing to fault this wee gem. As long as you are not looking for entertainment - none, busy buzzy place - not, but just a place to chill - def. Food is very good both dinner and breakfast, rooms are comfortable & warm with nice touches like tea/coffee/biscuits, bottled water, dressing gowns, small sofa to relax and watch a pretty old tv (our only wee gripe). The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The weather was wild and stormy but so cosy inside. Turnberry is only a few minutes walk away and hotel looks onto the 7th green of Kintyre course, rooms at back look out over Maidens harbour to sea. We have stayed several times and never had a complaint. The hotel is part of a residential care home, hotel rooms are all upstairs, Cotters Restaurant serves food all day long so you can eat when you want basically. We cant wait to go back back again.

We only stayed one night in this hotel/residential care home but it was very good. It was very quiet the night we stayed I don't know whether there were many in the hotel part, they certainly weren't in the restaurant.
Our room was excellent, just as described - small TV as someone else pointed out but weren't there long enough for that to be a problem!
The food was very, very good and very reasonable.
Service, particularly on reception was excellent. We had to leave early in the morning and they kindly made some bacon rolls for us to take with us.

This is an excellent hotel, with great views. The food is always good, the only downside is the smallest televisions in any hotel I have ever stayed in and limited wi-fi in the rooms! Otherwise, it is a great little hotel.

My son and I went for golfing vacation in Scotland and found this place to be one of our favorites. We had dinner and the fish starter plate looked so nice I hated eating it. The taste was as good as the appearance. Everybody that we dealt with had a positive helpful attitude.
I will go back!

Nice room - very clean and well appointed. Staff helpfull and polite. Views second to none. Restaurant good + expensive. Breakfast excellent - except for the coffee where "must try harder" would be a fair review! The hoel is also a Care Home but don't let that put you off - the wheelchair access could be very usefull if the wine list is too tempting!
Overall good hotel at a fair price.

Adjacent to the seventh green on Turnberry's Kintyre Course, this delightful little hotel is a prefect place to stay if your budget doesn't stretch to the Turnberry! The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food in it's restaurant was excellent. (It has a quiet atmosphere possibly due to sharing premises with apartments for the elderly!)

This hotel is unique in that it serves two purposes. The first floor is an assisted living facility and the second floor has hotel rooms. The rooms are nicely appointed, the bathrooms are just beautiful with all the amenities of a major hotel. We stayed here because the Turnberry resort was totally booked. Booked in on the bed, breakfast and dinner plan. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Our room had a sea view, and the rooms on the front overlook the Kintyre course at Turnberry. Great find!
