First impressions were not good as we found on arrival it is part of a care home
Had a bit of a smell.
But room was very nice lovely view and great staff.
Bit on hot side, food was really good and inexpensive breakfast was quite nice.
You out of it here as it has the only pub in village, but for views and location second to none

This was my second time staying here, as the food is excellent and the room very comfortable, lovely views, real fire burning in the reception area is nice to see these days, great hotel for relaxing after a long day working but would definitely stay here with my partner for a break.
The staff are genuinely friendly.
I think the ethos around the Retirement home and hotel work seamlessly together!

Just back from a lovely peaceful weekend - nothing to fault this wee gem. As long as you are not looking for entertainment - none, busy buzzy place - not, but just a place to chill - def. Food is very good both dinner and breakfast, rooms are comfortable & warm with nice touches like tea/coffee/biscuits, bottled water, dressing gowns, small sofa to relax and watch a pretty old tv (our only wee gripe). The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The weather was wild and stormy but so cosy inside. Turnberry is only a few minutes walk away and hotel looks onto the 7th green of Kintyre course, rooms at back look out over Maidens harbour to sea. We have stayed several times and never had a complaint. The hotel is part of a residential care home, hotel rooms are all upstairs, Cotters Restaurant serves food all day long so you can eat when you want basically. We cant wait to go back back again.

We only stayed one night in this hotel/residential care home but it was very good. It was very quiet the night we stayed I don't know whether there were many in the hotel part, they certainly weren't in the restaurant.
Our room was excellent, just as described - small TV as someone else pointed out but weren't there long enough for that to be a problem!
The food was very, very good and very reasonable.
Service, particularly on reception was excellent. We had to leave early in the morning and they kindly made some bacon rolls for us to take with us.

This is an excellent hotel, with great views. The food is always good, the only downside is the smallest televisions in any hotel I have ever stayed in and limited wi-fi in the rooms! Otherwise, it is a great little hotel.
