“Wonderful B & B in Biggar”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

We were on a short one night visit to Biggar for a wedding, having flown up from London the same day and needed somewhere to stay nearby. The Braefield is a lovely family cottage with stunning views over the countryside. There are 2 guest rooms, one downstairs with an ensuite and our room which was upstairs and was well appointed and decorated and very clean with extremely comfy beds. The bathroom which has a beautiful roll top bath and huge walk-in shower was just across the landing and was for our exclusive use only. We had a great night's sleep and awoke to the homely smell of breakfast which was served in the dining room and was thoroughly enjoyable with a good choice of locally sourced food to start your day. Caroline is an extremely friendly and helpful host and we were made to feel very welcome. We would definitely stay there again.

he Braefield B&B enchants with it's simple beauty. The rooms are wonderfully big and tastfully designed, the breakfast is fantastic and the family is truly lovely. The landscape surrounding the Braefield Bed & Breakfast is amazing. We had a great time hiking through the hills alongside sheep fences and horse farms. We spent a great weekend here and can't wait to go back. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Stay in the one room they let out :)

We are from Sydney Australia. We had 2 great days at Braefield as part of our holiday in U.K. Wished it was longer. Caroline and David were very welcoming and informative hosts. They assisted us on where to go for good meals, great attractions and gave excellent directions on how to get there. Our accommodation on the ground floor was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and in a very pleasant room. Caroline was able to do washing for us which assisted us greatly. Directions to find B&B were clear and accurate. We highly recommend this B&B

Caroline was incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing. The room downstairs with the en-suite was beautiful and spotless. However, be aware that this is a family home, and our children were in the upstairs bedroom which is between the bedrooms of the family's children, and they were sharing the family bathroom. This made them feel very self-conscious and was not ideal. There was also no cupboard space at all in this bedroom to unpack any clothes into. I do not wish to detract from the warmth of the welcome or the quality of the cooking, but feel future visitors should be aware of the layout if booking both rooms.

I am from the Seattle area and was looking for a location to relax and clear my mind. The Braefield B&B is a very cozy place to come back to after your day of sight seeing. The host, Caroline at the B&B is very friendly and provided many different sights to see in the local area from the castles to distilleries and breweries to visit (exactly what I was looking for). I have to say the the description and photos on the website are exactly what I experienced and could not have done any better. If you are looking for a worm environment at the perfect B&B look no further.

The room size is very large with an on suite bathroom, as far as the cleanleness of the room I could not find anything that needed attention. The breakfast was very good, with a large selection of hot and cold items that are served with tea and coffee. The B&B offers plenty of off street parking. The Braefield B&B will be my destination if I get the opportunity to return to the Scottish countryside.

I stayed here for one night with my son as a stopover before we travelled onwards the following morning to Edinburgh university. Caroline was very welcoming when we arrived. We had the room on the ground floor which consisted of a small hall, a big room with twin beds and a separate bathroom. Loved my bubble bath in the roll top bath before I went to bed. It is a very quiet location and we both slept very soundly in very comfortable beds. A wonderful breakfast in the morning which kept me going for the rest of the day ... you won't go hungry!

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting family in the area. Caroline made us feel right at home and the room was very comfortable. We would happily stay again. Twin room only.
