Reviewed 3 September 2012 via mobile

Stayed with our two daughters whilst attending a wedding in Strathaven. Excellent room and exceptional service. Our two year old daughter wanted pizza at breakfast. Next thing you know a mini pizza was freshly made for her. Would highly recommend this B&B.

This place was a lovely place to stay. The rooms were a very good size, with a comfortable bed and our room had a great view of the park. The breakfast was delicious every morning with a big selection to choose from. The Inn was in a great location to the town and the drives to both Edinburgh and Glasgow were very easy.
The parking was easy for us, I don't know if it becomes more of a problem when the place is busier, but there were also places to park in town that was a block away.
We also stayed for dinner one night during our stay. The dinner was delicious, there was a wide variety, there were 8 of us in our party and no one had anything even average for their meals, they were all far above.
Would be very happy to go back again, either to stay or to eat.

We were warmly welcomed and shown to a comfortable well furnished room overlooking the garden and the park. We were then offered refreshments in the lounge which we accepted. When sitting in the lounge do look at the beatiful ceiling. The evening meal was so good my wife wanted to kidnap the chef. We will certainly return.

Have lived in the area a very long time and this is the one restaurant that we keep going back to. Familly run restaurant of the highest standards but not the highest prices. Anne is a delightful hostess and all her staff extremely pleasant. The food cooked by Scott is just delicious and there is alway a selection to suit all tastes, most cooked with local produce. Whilst the building is old inside the restaurant is modern and airy yet very comfortable. Sunday lunch is our favourite with three delicious courses for under £20. If you live anywhere near or are holidaying in the area we definitely recommend that you try Rissons.

We stayed here when my son and friend were cycling from John O Groats to Lands End in 7 days then running in the London marathon the next day. We had such a lovely warm welcome from both Anne and Scott at the end of a very long day cycling, and they couldn't do enough for us. The bedrooms were lovely and clean, comfortable beds with lovely linen and great showers, exactly what we had hoped for. We also had a fantastic meal - Scott is obviously a very accomplished chef, so if you are on business or holiday, why you would want to stay in some of the nearby soulless, corporate hotels beats me. Next time we are visitng Scotland, we will definitely make Rissons part of the itinerary.

We live locally and are lucky enough to have Rissons nearby. Rissons is family run with a friendly service and Anne always gives you a warm welcome. The last time we ate here was last Saturday - the food was absolutely delicious and better than many highly recommended trip advisor restaurants in the city centre. No matter how often we go elsewhere it is hard to beat such a wonderful local restaurant.

Stayed at this hotel on a recomendation from a colleague. Never mind all those cheap cut price hotels who have multi million pound marketing campaigns. Stay here instead. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet and spotlessy clean. The welcome you will receive is exceptional together with a varied menu which was cooked to perfection.
Overall, brilliant service, friendly and personal.
