“Fantastic! A great Anniversary break, and fantastic place to celebrate..”
Reviewed 10 April 2014

Carol and I got this deal on Groupon, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I had been to this hotel many years ago with my work, and thought it would be nice. NICE is by far not enough. Firstly the hotel is nice, clean, modern, and has everything you need. The restaurant is great, simple menu that offers everything you could want, variety of foods, all cooked to perfection, with an equally good selection of wines. The service, the staff, well, the are simply the very best, happy, delight full cheery, friendly, and honestly, nothing is too much of effort as the girls only want to please. This is day one of a cracking two day cracking deal. I can't wait for tomorrow. I appreciate my review is somewhat premature, however with the service from these young ladies, trust me, far too good to keep for another day.. A great place, get yourself here ! Thanks to the staff..... Charlie Street

Room Tip: Get here, simply fantastic, literally service with a massive smile. Staff smile and so will you with...

On our way to the highlands and this was a great stopover, using a voucher.

We were allocated a large room on the front and this gave great views of the street scene. Beds were comfortable and our (included) dinner and breakfast were of high quality - drinks were reasonably priced too.

This is a great place to stay to visit local attractions eg in the Trossachs, Stirling and Bannockburn.

All staff were very friendly and attentive.

All our needs for the stopover were provided (who needs a Travelodge?)

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed an overnight stay at the beginning of April. Our room was very comfortable, spacious and warm. All staff were most welcoming and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, well-cooked and substantial. All in all, a most enjoyable visit.

Nice rooms -very spacious. Took a wee minute for the hot water to come through in the morning but plentiful when it reached the room Pleasant and helpful staff at reception and in the restaurant. Food was good

Room Tip: Hot water does come - just run the taps til it does or get a room nearer the hot water supply

Good value for money. Unfortunately, I was in a room facing the main road so was woken up early with the traffic. Room needed upgraded especially in the
bathroom( broken tiles) but for the price was ok.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back of the hotel

I planned a Mother's Day treat with my mother as been before and was really good. The food was excellent but was very let down by service as every other table was asked if meal was ok and would they like a drink but we were completely ignored which put a real dampner on the day we left as soon as we finished dessert , also outside the door on the flower bed is like an ashtray it's very off putting as you enter the hotel.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback and a picture of your Mother's Day starter.

We apologise that you felt ignored whilst dining with us especially as Mother's Day is a busy and exciting day for all our staff, who enjoy looking after the customers and their Mums.
We hope you will return to The Royal Hotel and take advantage of our Buy One Get One Free Afternoon Tea Offer (exclusive for those who dined with us on Sunday). Perhaps you can bring Mum back too as we would be delighted to restore your faith in our service.

The Royal Hotel is non smoking hotel however at times the main steps can be used by some guests for this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention the maintenance of The Royal, especially on arrival, is very important to us.
