My husband and i went for lunch today at the Royal Hotel and i have to say it was the best fish i have ever tasted. My husband had the homemade steak pie and he said his was lovely as well

The meal was hot and well presented plus a very good price
The staff could not do enough to make you feel welcome and were very attentive.
The manager Peter can be seen watching everything is going smoothly
Full marks as i have eaten all over the world. I think tourists will love visiting this hotel as the lunch is fantastic value and the afternoon tea looked amazing.

Room Tip: Did not stay were only there for lunch

Disappointing stay. Room was cold and soulless. Lots of things shabby .....chunk out of toilet , chips in bath etc mattress cheap and lumpy, towels smelt and room itself smelled of stake smoke. Food was very poor. Soggy garlic bread, lasagne tasted like a cheap dolmio sauce and tiny portion. Sticky toffee pud ok but cheesecake a bought in type and tasteless. White Wine warm. Breakfast was a joke re service. Waited 45 min on food and tea toast after the food. Had to ask for orange juice , milk etc to be refilled as everything was empty. Three members of staff wandering about aimlessly picking up odd cup etc no system in place to mange these staff. Reported this fiasco on check out. Receptionist said staff new and good to know these things! Would not recommend even on a deal hotel a poor standard.
