Just returned a few days ago from a one night stay at the royAl. It was for my birthday and also my wedding anniversary . My husband knows the area well so we called the hotel and were given a room for one night dinner bed and breakfast for £69 for the two of us.our room wAs at the back of the hotel but hAd a side view looking out to Stirling castle which was lovely. We went to the hotel bar and had a drink before dinner prices not to bad for a hotel £3.30 for a pint of beer and the same for a Bloody Mary.we went in for dinner and the food was excellent hubby had a stack of potato scone black pudding and bacon topped with a perfect poached egg and I had the pate which was lovely we both had chicken with black pudding mashed potato peppercorn sauce and. For us the most perfectly cooked carrots broccoli and cauliflower not soggy at all thus was followed by cheesecake and apple crumble .we also had a beer and a cider which was Aldo included in the price. Had a nice evening in the bar talking to so e locals there which proves prices must be okay if locals drink there.breKfast was equally as good plenty off cereals cold meAts fruit and pastries you could also hAve eggs done the way you liked them porridge and kippers and a cooked breakfast.all in all we had a wonderful time and will go back again as all the staff were fantastic and I would like to add that they were all local people good if you want to know about the area fantaostic break and recommend you try it for yourself
