“Unpretentious Delicious Fare”
Reviewed 13 June 2012

Have been eating here since 1978 and still think it's delicious treat to have fish supper, Bru and an ice cream - the original vanilla ice cream is the must have - with a flake. It's a local institution popular with us locals and any time I take visitors here they love it. Tartare sauce is lovely. Friendly staff. My kids eat here now and probably my grandweans will eat here. Even an olympic torch bearer dropped in for chips and ice cream when we were last there!

“Nicest ice cream ever”
Reviewed 26 May 2012

Great fish and chips, Portions good and service fast and friendly. Its popularity shows just how good it is. But for me it has to be the ice cream. The range of flavors is amazing and they don't mind giving you a wee free taste!! Don't drive past.

“Great place for fish&chips and ice cream”
Reviewed 29 April 2012

Traditional Scottish-Italian fish and chip restaurant which also serves great ice cream. I loved the food and service was efficient and friendly. Definitely some of the best fish and chips in Scotland.Bridge of Allan is a nice place to walk around and is convenient for Stirling university. Parking could be awkward at busy periods.

“A honeypot in Bridge of Allan”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

Whenever you tell people you are going near Bridge of Allan they say 'Oh you must visit the Allan Water Cafe'.

Well, you must, but get there early as it gets very busy! It's a bustling cafe with people of all ages at the tables, and fish and chips the absolute dish of choice. Their tartare sauce is home-made and delicious, as is their home-made ice cream.

They do takeaway fish and chips and ice creams too. I had the small fish tea, which was a small haddock and chips, a pot of tea and a lovely dish of vanilla ice, and it was fab. You'd have to be ravenously hungry to finish the Large fish and chips, I saw it delivered to the table next to ours, and it was huge!

Service is efficient and friendly.
