£6.90 for a sandwich?? You must be kidding. Well its the only pub on Port Askaig and has been last decorated when making Whisky was still illegal. Hopelessly overpriced food.

It was a dirty, wet night on Islay and were so glad to sit in the bar next to the cosy fire! We were given to option to go through to the restaurant but chose to sit in at the bar to dry off. We chose from the main restaurant menu which was just the right size and features soup and catch of the day as well as a seafood platter.
The staff were lovely; very friendly and welcoming which is always appreciated when you're a visitor! The food was a bit slow to come out- however it was absolutely fantastic and we didn't mind the wait for a good meal. They did warn us that it's not fast food- it's good food cooked properly and made to order, so if you're in a real rush, maybe don't order from the main menu (they have a fast food / takeaway menu too) I highly recommend the chicken and haggis- I'll be dreaming of it for weeks to come. The starters and deserts we had were also great. Some other customers ordered burgers from the other menu and they looked good too- nice thick burgers and a good helping of chips and some salad I think.
The second night we came in we were able to bring the dog in to the bar, which was really nice of them to allow. All in all our experience was fantastic and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm on the island.

Occupied ourselves quite happily here while waiting for our ferry home. The food was typical pub grub but no less enjoyable for that. Service and chat from the waitress was lovely and we were allowed to bring our dog in which was very much appreciated by us. Coffees were very good and an excellent selection of whisky kept me happy before the journey home

Food was just reasonable and quite expensive. The service was quite odd, as we had three different people come and take our order, so there was a bit of confusion.
