“A fantastic week in the Outer Hebrides”
Reviewed 5 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We're just back from a fantastic week in the sun on the Isle of Lewis. Along with Harris this has got to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. If you want to "get away from it all" this is the place for you. Spectacular beaches with turquoise sea, moors, mountains and incredible wildlife.
An Taigh Clach has everything you could possibly need in a holiday let. It is beautifully presented and equipped inside & out with great views over the surrounding countryside.
Val was the perfect hostess from the booking stage right through the stay, popping in every couple of days to check everything was ok and to drop off a lobster or two from the fisherman who docks at the jetty down the road. Nothing was too much trouble.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Lovely cottage with all mod cons. Amazing scenery and a short walk from Gearrannan Blackhouse Village. Very fortunate with the weather. Lovely welcome from Valerie and Calum including some delicious lamb and baked goods! Would recommend and return!

“Exceptional location and amenities”
Reviewed 17 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Had three days on lewis including amazing trip with Seatrek to St Kilda. An Taigh Clach was of a very high standard and Valerie and Callum welcoming hosts. The property is excellently equips and the welcome pack of delicious scones, lemon meringue pies and Swiss fancies plus freezer of selection of lamb joints very generous and delicious. Beds very comfortable. The views out of the large picture windows were superb with outstanding views of setting sun in the west. Location for trips to the Butt, Harris, Callanish stones and broch plus local Harris tweed all do able distances. A highly recommendable location and hope Valerie and Callum continue to do well.

“A beautiful cottage with a wonderful reception from owners”
Reviewed 3 April 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Beautiful cottage with all the amenities you could ask for. The standard of furnishings is very high. The owners were exceptionally welcoming and very helpful when the Ferry broke down to get off the Island! The cottage is in a nice and quiet location with the Callanish Stones fairly close. Wood and peat are supplied for the woodburning stove which means cosy nights in!
Thoroughly recommended!!

“ideal accomodation to discover Lewis”
Reviewed 4 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We had a very enjoyable break in early December at the Stone House- the rooms are comfortable and have been tastefully renovated and decorated. All necessary items were available in the kitchen including a well stocked freezer with local lamb. You could not ask for better self catering facilities.
There were 4 seasons in one day and the scenery to match- on this trip we discovered some of the more isolated spots for fishing.

“Just amazing”
Reviewed 26 September 2013 for a stay in July 2013

A beautifully decorated and well equipped self catering cottage situated in an area of the Isle of Lewis which made it ideal for exploring this amazing island. Everything we could have possibly wanted and more was supplied including, on arrival, some really welcome home baking. The scenery from the living room overlooking open countryside and mountains in the distance was utterly peaceful and beautiful.

“Heaven on Earth”
Reviewed 25 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

There are a lot of beautiful places to visit and many beautiful cottages to stay in on the Isle of Lewis, but what makes An Taigh Clach a special place to stay - are the owners! Val and Calum make sure that you have everything you can possibly require for a perfect holiday. From the booking process, to instructions on how to get there, to buying in supplies for your arrival, to being just down the road if you should need anything during your stay - to turning up one night with a bag of crab claws, cooked and ready to eat! The facilities are first class and the position excellent for exploring both Lewis and Harris. Waking up every morning to that lovely panoramic view, and watching the sun go down in the evening, will be something we will remember for a long time to come.
