“Great place great stay”
Reviewed 13 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Great location..so quiet u can literally only hear birds. The water view is super peaceful . House is clean tidy and very well equipped. It was excellent place to stay. Dolly and her husband are kind courteous people...and the island itself...well you have to and discover it..possibly the BEST beaches in the world all on one island, and I say thst having visited many fabulous beaches .

“An Isle of Lewis perfect haven”
Reviewed 1 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

A most comfortable and well-equipped house in a stunning location. Ideally suited for visiting all parts of Harris and Lewis. Dolly, our hostess, was there to greet us when we arrived, bringing with her a basket of delicious home-cooked goodies. We would certainly recommend this to our friends.

“Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and stunning views.”

This well equipped and very comfortable cottage is an excellent centre for exploring both Lewis and Harris. Tarbert is an easy drive away as is Stornaway and of course no-one visiting Lewis should neglect to visit the standing stones at Callanish. The Broch near Callanish is worth a visit as is the Black House Centre. If driving to the Butt of Lewis take time to walk to the Norse Mill which gives a excellent feel for that time period. We actually took two days to see all that we wanted to see in North West Lewis. The beaches are stunning and Dalbeg beach in particular where you can walk round sea stacks at low tide is a child safe delight. The beaches on Harris are even more stunning but roads are narrow with tight passing places and parking can be seriously problematic unless you either get there early or hit it lucky. St Clements Church on Harris is well worth a visit but be warned if you drive the east coast route there are very few places to stop and admire the breathtaking scenery. The lighthouse on Scalpay is well worth the walk and the Island can be reached easily from Tarbert over the bridge but do wear proper footwear - the path gets seriously rough in places and there is no vehicle access to the lighthouse. Do however, take time to sit in the cottage garden and just let the view soothe away your cares. We visited ST Kilda from Leverburgh but you have to book well in advance and sometimes the weather is against you. Whatever you do always leave plenty of time to get where you are going. Even the main roads can be single track in places and you have to remember that this is a working environment. The scenery however is so stunning that every delay is an opportunity to soak up the landscape. In short this is an excellent centre for exploring both Islands.
