Stayed at the Royal on the last night of a 5 day trip to the Outer Hebrides and found it to be fine. We arrived on the Sunday which was probably not ideal and had to eat in the adjacent cafe next door which had been very busy and some things were off he menu. Food was fine. Hotel was a wee bit tired. Windows a wee bit draughty. Overall though it wa what it was. An older hotel with pleasant staff and ideal for an overnight stop in Stornoway.
