“Comfortable stay with wonderful views.”
Reviewed 5 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The house was very clean and well equipped making our stay very comfortable. A 15min drive from Stornoway and the location was convenient and beautiful.

“Home away from home”
Reviewed 13 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The Annexe is just as warm and pretty as the photos show - lovely decor, very comfortable bed, loads of interesting books and a most amazing view onto the sea! We enjoyed the independence that a separate little house provides, including the washing machine. The kitchenette is excellently equipped and the owners thought of lots of little details and useful gadgets. When using the electric hobs simply remember to turn on the timer in order to get them activated.

“lovely views, great wee place”
Reviewed 7 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We enjoyed a long weekend with the dog at the Annexe. The accommodation is bright, spacious, and very warm. The evening views looking west over the sea are lovely.

There's no TV or radio, and no wireless internet - we enjoyed the seclusion and remoteness this brought, so that was ok for us. Hundreds of books to choose from.

The cooking facilities were simple - a microwave and two hobs - but adequate, The kitchen is small, but that adds to the charm, and we kept food prep simple accordingly. Our dog was welcome, and he enjoyed the freedom of the garden.

There's nothing much to see or do in the immediate locale (apart from the lovely cove at the foot of the Annexe) - but it's a simple 15 minute drive to Stornoway and onwards from there. We met the owners briefly, and they made us feel very welcome.

We'd recommend the Annexe; great value for money with everything you need to be comfortable and relaxed.

“Comfortable cottage, stunning setting”

Very comfortable, well equipped cottage with lovely sweeping view across the bay. Quiet country setting with walk past fields to the water, but easy drive to town. Very nice accommodation and great value.

We had a lovely holiday in this very comfortable cottage which had everything we needed, It is about 15 mins drive from Stornoway in a nice quiet location. with lovely views accross the water. The interior of the cottage is bright and modern but also warm and cosy and the bed was very comfortable. I would certainly stay here again.

“Very nice quiet place to stay”

All in all it was a very clean and tidy place, the only downside was a very small kitchen with no oven, just 2 electric hobs which took an age to heat. There was no television but it was fine as there was plenty of books to browse.

“Feels like being a personal guest”
Reviewed 14 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

After an adequate but ho-hum stay in another holiday rental, we arrived at the Annexe. As others have noted, the location is superb. The large living room has windows on three sides, all looking down the slope with sheep and then at the shore and the view of mountains on the other side of the bay. It is quiet, and the occasional neighbors we met on walks, all knew about the Annexe and were very welcoming. The cottage is supplied with hundreds of books, suitable for any taste. Artwork is unique and tasteful. The kitchen is small but functional. The bedroom has an extremely comfortable bed with good reading lights on both sides. Even though we were staying after the season, the heating system kept the cottage warm and cosy. Unfortunately, our hosts had to be out of town for the week. Based on their taste, I'm sure they would be delightful to know. No television, but who would want to watch it when you can watch beautiful sunsets, and dramatic clouds or sparkling stars at night.
