This hotel was great for walking to everything in Tobermory. Staff were friendly and helpful, with great advice on things to do. The room was spotless and bathroom a good size. We stayed for 4 nights at a decent price as they accepted bookings at odd times of the week. Leaving early for the ferry before breakfast they made us a great packed lunch.

We had a wonderful time at the Park Lodge Hotel. Our room was nice and the location was great: uphill, very close to the center. People were friendly. I certainly recommend this hotel. The higlands games at the Golf club were great: free, democratic, very friendly.

The Park Lodge Hotel is a quaint little hotel with nice, clean and cosy rooms, friendly staff that will chat with you about what can be found around town, and views of the sea of town of Tobermory from the cliff. Everything in the harbour is within walking distance, and the salty smell of the ocean breeze mixed with the scent of barley from the nearby distillery blows in through the windows. A perfect place to enjoy life and relax during your stay in Tobermory.

We spent two nights at the Park Lodge in mid June. Room was very clean, although small (We booked the standard double). Bathroom facilities were good, with a stall shower and lots of towels. As others have noted, the flat screen television is small, but hey, you're on Mull, in Tobermory, no less. Unless it's absolutely pouring rain, why would you want to spend your holiday time watching the telly?

We were in room 10, on the first floor, which had a good view of the Western Isles Hotel, and if you stretched just a little bit, also a good view of Tobermory Bay. Bed was very comfortable, and the room contained the usual amenities (tea maker, biscuits, etc.)

The hotel is easy to find, given the fact that Tobermory is a small town. The easiest way to get to the hotel, if you're driving, is to drive up Back Brae, which is the first right hand turn after you come off the Kilchoan ferry, or the last left turn before the ferry. The Corner Shop, featuring many Balamory souvenirs, is on the corner.

Don't make the mistake of trying to make the first right hand turn going toward the Western Isles Hotel. That will get you there, but it's a very very sharp turn. Instead, keep going up the hill, keeping to the right, until you get to the first main intersection, which is Erray Road. Turn right here, go past the High School, and make the first right on to Western Road. Then just go down the hill, turn slightly to the right at the end, and there's the hotel.

Also, follow signs for the police station (from Main Street), and turn right just before the "No through road" sign. If you pass the police station, you've gone too far.

That said, the car park at the Park Lodge is small. It would probably fit about 12 cars, although there appears to be some additional parking along Western Road.

Staff was excellent, especially Nicola. She helped us find a space in the car park, and went way over and above the call of duty to find lodging for a German couple who had arrived in Tobermory late in the day to find everything solidly booked up. That was true Island hospitality. The Park Lodge is lucky to have Nicola as an employee.

Compared to other hotels where we stayed in the Highlands and Islands, the Park Lodge offered good value for the money. We will gladly stay there again on our next trip to Mull.

Room Tip: Room facing the front of the hotel; get there early for a good parking space.

Stayed here on last night on Mull, mainly booked as was one of few places which would accept a one day stay in July. Room was on second floor and as temperature at time was 28oC the room was very warm- no fans provided, but we don't often get that type of temperature in Scotland!
Good location as main street just down hill, nice area to sit out at front of hotel.
Did not eat in the evening at hotel as walked down in to town to fish restaurant. Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful.
For price paid was good, room décor a little dated but only slept in room, overall a good option for a one night stay.

Stayed one night at beginning of july a bit disappointed with room no 1 which was on ground floor and too near the main entrance we could hear people coming in and out late at night .Room decor could do with a face lift as it was very drab but the bed was comfortable .The staff were very pleasent and very helpful in every way .Breakfast was very good but evening dinner a bit disappointing. But saying that we would still give this hotel another chance.

Room Tip: Dont have any rooms near reception

We stayed two nights in June. After spending two nights in a B&B outside Fort William that was just superb, this was a bit of a come down. We had a "superior" room and at £99 per night (as opposed to £75 per night in the previous top notch B&B) felt it was a bit pricey. Particularly, as the room was quite drab. Our friends, who stayed in a downstairs "superior" room were of the same opinion. However, as accommodation on Tobermory seems to be limited in numbers, then I suppose you have to pay that bit extra.

On the plus side, the staff were friendly, the breakfast served was very good, we had a meal in the restaurant which was good and they had a fairly well stocked bar (for a hotel). It is close to the harbour (albeit, up a steep hill), and is a good location to explore the north side of the Isle of Mull.

Can't say that I would definitely go back, but if there was nothing else available, I would use it again.
