“Great if the weather is rainy”

Rainydays Soft Play
Reviewed 18 July 2014

I went here with my two year old daughter and four year old niece. It costs £2.50 per child for an hour. The play area is quite small, but for the town really good I think. The children had lots of fun climbing and sliding, There are three small climbing walls, a slide, a tunnel, ball pit etc. there is a small table and chairs where children can colour in and draw too. Staff are friendly and rely on donations to keep the facility running. It's a shame they cannot open it more - as the previous day it was pouring rain but it was closed.

We visited the soft play with our children aged 1 and 3. It was easy to find as there was a large sign on the main street. The soft play area itself was small, but enough to entertain a pre-schooler - there were also thoughtful touches like a good nappy changing provision and child toilet seat. Everything was in good, clean order.

My only complaint would be that on the afternoon we visited, there was a large number of other (quite big) children running riot and being ignored by their parents/carers - to the extent that one little girl latched on to our family as we were actually chatting to her and paying her attention! The other children were also throwing the balls around all over the floor and being completely ignored. But that was more the fault of the parents/carers and not the play area per se.

We would also heartily recommend the ice cream parlour almost opposite the soft play - yummy!
