“Weekend away on Mull”
Reviewed 28 September 2010

We had a fab weekend on the Island of Mull and stayed at Brockville B&B. The B&B was within easy walking of Tobermory where there were several different places to eat. We were really well looked after and nothing was too much and so many little touches that made it a great place to stay. Breakfast was wonderful and I might even have to write and ask for one of the recipes!

While on Mull we went on a boat trip with Sea Life Surveys, had a fab day and spotted loads of dolphins, truly magical.

If you want to be looked after and have a lovely large room then go to Brockville.

We 4 oldies had the best time in Mull and, in two weeks of touring Scotland, our 3 nights at Brockville were the most comfortable and best value of them all. The location just above Tobermory harbour is great, the rooms are large, light and beautifully equippped with anything you might need but could easily have forgotten! Helen's breakfasts are wonderfully varied from the health conscious to the over indulgent and nothing ever seemsto be too much trouble. Excellent advice also on where to eat and what to do in and around the island. Highly and unreservedly recommended.

This was my second visit to Brockville and once again the hospitality was second to none. Lovely big room and bed, with superb view. The breakfast was very good and the home made biscuits were a lovely touch

We visit Tobermory regularly and were looking for somewhere that we would want to return to frequently. After several attempts we found Brockville, and our search is definitely over! Helen and Gordon can't do enough for you (including drying wet jeans after a rainy walk), and the accommodation is first class.

The Tobermory room is large, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. We particularly like the enormous comfortable bed (which is actually 2 singles but with an undetectable joint!) and the seating area where you can relax with a drink without perching on the bed. The bathroom is also large and immaculately clean, the shower is good and it's nice to have a window in the bathroom, with the view as an added bonus!

Breakfast is excellent, with loads of choice. I would particularly recommend Helen's scrambled eggs!

And then there's all the wee extras that make Brockville special - fresh flowers changed daily; lovely biscuits and never the same 2 days in a row; fresh milk instead of the wee longlife pots; the books in the bathroom; big fluffy towels; bathrobes; DVD player and DVDs to watch - to mention just a few...

It is worth mentioning that Brockville is up a fairly steep hill, but it is only a few minutes walk to the Main Street with all its restaurants and bars, and it's really not far on the way back up!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Brockville to anyone, and we fully intend to return several times a year.

We have stayed in many hotels and B&B's in this country and overseas and can honestly say that this small B&B rates with the best.
The standard of clenliness and quality of food was excellent and Helens attention to detail was second to none !
The bedroom was spacious with a seperate seating area and the bed itself was extremely comfortable.
All in all a quality B&B and strongly recommended

We have stayed at Brookville now on two occasions and we thought that our first time was great in 2008 but our stay this time was even better. We organised our trip to the Uk around staying at Brookville because we enjoyed our stay there so much. We have stayed in about 50 Bed and Breakfast on our 3 trips to the Uk and by far Brookville is the best B and B we have stayed at. We have stayed in both Helen's rooms and they are equally great having plenty of room and a great view over Tobermory. Helen goes out of her way to make sure everything is just right and to make you feel so much at home which what it nearly becomes. The breakfast is great with again Helen adding some special little touches to the breakfast. If you stay in the Tobermory room you have to be careful of the bear as he is likely to attack you at any time. He has a warped sense of humour. I lost my beenie and when I returned from being out there he was sitting on the bed with my beenie on . Thank you Helen for a memorable experience 4 great nights at Brookville.
