We stayed here last Summer due to the very reasonable prices. The rooms were clean and more than adequate for our needs. The staff were helpful.

The real highlight to off the Heb has to be its food. We were told by our taxi driver the Heb had some of the most reasonably priced food on Skye. He was right but not only that it must also be some of the nicest.

The salmon in particular, which is smoked on premises, was to die for as was the locally produced ice cream certain members of our group could not get over.

Being located only a few hundred metres from the Co-op and petrol station makes it an ideal start point for a long days walking and being on the main road gives good access to most of the South of Skye including the Cuillin (Glenbrittle campsite, a common start point is still about an hour away but everywhere else is not far at all) and is ideally situated for a day trip to Raasay or back to the mainland if the weather turns bad.

The room was very average in quality, but not expensive by Skye standards. Not a quiet hotel as the rooms were clad with plasterboard; when a door was slammed it became noisy.
The food in the restaurant was quite acceptable and of a good standard.

Three of us stayed for a couple nights here. The owners, Geoff and Vanessa, are a lovely couple, and the location is outstanding. Our room had large picture windows looking out over Broadford Bay, which was beautiful. Several restaurants within walking distance, and we did have one dinner at the hotel, which was very nicely prepared. The rooms still could be updated a bit, particularly the bathroom--toilet had difficulty flushing on one try, and one small oddly placed mirror for the whole room. It's equipped more as a budget hotel, but everything is pristine clean. Nice pub and dining area with a good selection of beer and single malts.

Vanessa and Geoff, are offering honest value in a spotlessly clean hotel. For once, these charming hosts offer great value for money, and do not pretend to be something they are not, nor indeed want to be, how refreshing! .Genuinely good honest food, huge portions, with something for everyone on their menu. A very light, but genuine atmosphere, where they really do care about their clients. The rooms are spotless, with amazing views, and extremely comfortable, They cannot be faulted in what they have achieved here in a very short space of time . I can totally recommend this hotel for all I have said, but especially for value. They so deserve to prosper for all their attention to detail.

Room Tip: I could only comment on my own room which was excellent.

We've stayed at the Hebridean many times over the years but this was the first since the new owners took over. The refurb is great, bright, clean & very comfortable. We were travelling as a family covering 4 generations & all enjoyed our stay. A HUGE plus about the menu is the childrens menu, there isn't one - not a sausage, fish finger or chicken nugget in sight!! Smaller portions from the main menu are served which is how it should be. Only negative from Dad's point was the stairs, at 85 yrs old they were too much for him but I should have taken that into account when booking. We will certainly stay again & recommend to anyone with children.

Even though I only spent one night over there, the clean room, nice food, handy facilities, good view of Hebridis sea, and especially the warm hospitality from the staff left my pleasantly deep impression. I strongly recommend people to choose this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing to the sea are really nice. e.g Room 1 to 4.

We have eaten at the Hebridean Hotel many times and have never been disappointed. The food is good quality reasonably priced pub grub. The fish and chips are great value and the spicy chicken has just enough bite not to drown the flavour.

There is always a good changeover of real ales. One or two on tap and the ale is of a very good quality (from a seasoned ale drinker). And at £3.10 a pint it must be the best value on Skye.
