“Fantastic base to explore beautiful Skye!”
Reviewed 23 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We had a wonderful time visiting Skye, and staying in this comfortable home in Dunvegan was a great experience. Portree was only a 20 minute drive away, and Dunvegan offered adorable restaurants and bakeries with all of the basic conveniences you could need. The house itself was very comfortable with everything you could need after a day of exploring the island, including a great kitchen and a huge DVD collection.
Would recommend the Coral Beach walk right up the street, and the Trotternish Peninsula has all of the natural beauty you could want. The short drive to Glendale has a bunch of shops with local crafts/wares including Skye Silver and Skye Weavers with nice restaurants like the Red Roof Cafe and Three Chimneys Restaurant.
Overall, would highly recommend staying here if you would like to see northern Skye from the comfort of a large home without the hassle of Portree.

“Lovely house in Dunvegan”
Reviewed 7 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

What a gem. Lovely house, loads of extras, everything you need for self catering break.
House was lovely and clean, well placed for touring Isle of Skye. Washing machine and separate dryer was great as most rentals have a combined washer dryer which is a pain. Kitchen has every utensil you could need, lots of cook books too. Plenty books, dvd's, children's toys, and wifi which was great as Vodafone have practically no coverage on Skye, so had no phone signal for the 3 days we were there. House backs onto the water so would be nice in good weather but unfortunately some people who live there are dumping all sorts at the back of the houses, which is a shame but as its in a setting that's not all holiday homes it's because of people who don't care what the environment around them looks like. Unfortunately the weather was dreadful so we didn't use the outside area at all and my only comment on that is it requires a bit of "taming", getting slightly too wild at present to be enjoyable when the weather is good but I am very much a person who loves a tidy garden.
The owner is very nice to deal with, nothing is a problem. Will be recommending this property to anyone we know visiting the area and will not hesitate to return.

“Was well equiped, looked lovely and ideal for a short stay in Skye”
Reviewed 2 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We found the house to be really well equipped with a wide range of games, DVD's and consoles great for teenagers in the evenings when we all needed a well earned rest. The house was beautifully decorated indoors with everything you could ever think of in the kitchen. The garden needed a little attention but to be expected for this time of year and would be a great sun trap over the summer months. Would definitely consider if returning to Skye.

“Fantastic ... A Home from home”

First trip to Skye did not disappoint. Booking and communication with owner was great. A really lovely house with literally everything you need!

A lovely welcome basket with cereals, a fresh loaf from the bakery just down the road and a wee dram of Talisker was really nice touch.

Bedrooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. Beds were super comfy and views were amazing!

We packed so much into our stay znd there was lots of visitor information for us to plan our activities. A trip to the Fairy Pools is a must and Jann's bakery is highly recommended for a wee sweet treat.

This really was a great place to stay and we really enjoyed a relaxing break ... 5* will definitely be back!!

“Great location”
Reviewed 7 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This home was well appointed and in a good location. The back garden was a little too overgrown for us to enjoy but the front garden was nice.

“Great house and location.”
Reviewed 6 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We spent a week at at No.2 in September this year and had a great time on Skye, made all the better by the accommodation. The house itself is situated within easy walking distance of all the attractions and amenities that Dunvegan has to offer and is a perfect base for touring Skye, with Portree only 22 miles away.
You could not ask for more inside the house, everywhere was spotlessly clean and everything we wanted was there. For those rainy days there were board games, loads of DVD's and Nintendo Wii and X-Box machines, both with games, and free Wi-Fi. The kitchen is well equipped and had more utensils etc. than I have at home. The beds were very comfy and the view I had from the twin room was excellent, overlooking Loch Dunvegan.
The back garden could do with a bit of tidy up, it's getting a bit overgrown, but it was getting near the end of the holiday season and the weather when we were there didn't give us much opportunity to use it anyway. Having said that, myself and one of the other guys took a wander out back one evening, down past the small jetty, with a couple of beers and spent an hour or so seal spotting. We did spot a couple of them surfacing with fish in their mouths, very relaxing.
The welcome basket that awaited us when we arrived was just that, very welcome, and contained some essentials to get us started including midge repellent, nice touch. There was also a couple of drams of Talisker whisky which I enjoyed very much.
Helynn and Sam could not have been more helpful during our stay and I would recommend No.2 to anyone visiting Skye.
