We stayed with James and Lynsey, who were thoughtful hosts, at the 'Agustin B&B' in Kyleakin, on the Isle of Skye for a few nights in August and had an excellent holiday.
The house looked to be newly built and furnished and was easily located just off the first roundabout over the Skye bridge upon entering Kyleakin. A very convenient location to be based for our holiday exploring the Isle of Skye.
We stayed in the en-suite double bedroom at the front of the house on the ground floor, which was tastefully decorated with a modern and minimalist style. There was a walk-in wardrobe and plenty of space to store our suitcases. The bed was very firm, yet cosy and the linen was comfortable. In addition to the fluffy towels in the bathroom, there were high quality hand and body wash and the shower was powerful and provided an invigorating way to start the day. When we returned to our room each day it had been thoroughly serviced and cleaned.
The only suggestion we have for improvement, and it only impacted on us in a minor way, is that it would be nice to have a little bit more furniture, for example a small table or chest of draws in the bedroom, just to layout some of our belongings.
Continuing with the positives, our hosts very kindly and without asking, provided us with proper wine glasses for us to enjoy a bottle of wine, that we had bought back, from one of our day trips out around Skye.
Continental breakfast is available between 08:00 and 09:30, with fresh cafetière coffee and a variety of speciality teas to accompany the toast. Additionally cheese and meats are offered alongside the cereals and yogurts if preferred. It's worth noting that the breakfast room is on the first floor, which offers fantastic views over the hills adjacent to Kyleakin harbour.
The closest place to find amenities whilst staying here is Kyleakin, just a short distance away, which offers a range of places to eat and a small grocery store. A greater range of facilities, e.g. a petrol station, cash machine and a Co-Op, can be found in Kyle of Lochalsh just back over the Skye bridge or in Broadford, which is 7 miles in the opposite direction.
In summary, the 'Agustin B&B' is an excellent place to stay whilst visiting the Isle of Skye and provides very comfortable accommodation, with James and Lynsey being professional and considerate hosts.
We would be more than happy to stay here again in future.
