My husband and I stayed with other family members on a wet week in June. The rain didn't hinder our stay at all as Ord is so pretty and as long as you have your waterproofs with you you will have a fabulous time on Skye. In our party we had a keen bird watcher ( the only one among us) who seemed to have his binoculars glued to his face for the week so a big thumbs up for any twitchers thinking of visiting Ord.
MacKinnon is lovely, clean and ideally situated with a fantastic view of The Cuillins. We were very pleasantly surprised by the chalet, it's totally in keeping with the area and yet modern with all you need in the kitchen area. The main bathroom is large with a nice shower & bath which is very welcoming after a long wet walk. The beds were really comfortable with lovely top quality bedding. The towels were supplied and the owner had even gone to the trouble of putting little hanging loops on each towel in different colours so we knew whos was whos - its the little but un-believable thoughtful things like this that will make you love MacKinnon. 10/10 from us !!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at MacKinnon. This was our first visit to Skye and the location was great for a sunset over Cuillens - all the neighbours rushed out to get photos too and were very friendly. The house was perfect for our needs, cosy, comfortable, nicely decorated and well equipped, and could easily accommodate more people. Our questions were dealt with promptly by ihcottages, and we were greeted with a welcome note, and milk! We would happily stay there again to explore more of the island.
