The directions to find this place from the website were spot on. When we arrived we received a warm welcome from Craig who showed us the facilities and took us to our room. The décor and facilities were both of a high standard – and the views from the front of the house down over Portree and across to central Skye are breathtaking.

We arrived early afternoon with plans to take the ferry the following morning from Uig. Knowing this, our host asked if we had plans to see anything of Skye that afternoon. He produced a helpfully pre-prepared tour guide to take in four of the better known sites in north-east Skye – doable in a couple of hours. Again, the directions were easy to follow and accurate and we managed to find all four easily – and before the sun set.

Our early ferry departure meant an early breakfast which our hosts were happy to accommodate. The breakfast was generous and expansive. The full Scottish breakfast was excellent – beautifully cooked. We were able to get away on time and easily mad our ferry departure.

Hosts Craig and Kasia were wonderfully hospitable and helpful. This B&B offers excellent value-for-money and we would happily return for a further stay if we ever find ourselves on Skye again. Look no further if you need accommodation on the wonderful Isle of Skye.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by it not being in the town.

Beautiful B & B on the Isle of Skye. Our room was immaculate and incredibly comfortable with modern amenities. Delicious and filling breakfasts that included homemade bread. Fantastic views of the island and Portree. Craig and Kasia gave us a warm welcome, helped us find a place to eat our evening meals (including making reservations for us), and provided us with an extensive knowledge of places to visit throughout the Isle of Skye. The price per night is a bargain. This was the best B & B we have ever stayed in and we absolutely recommend staying here on a trip to Skye.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at Larchside for two nights in September and had a lovely time. The house is located just outside of Portree with a beautiful view from every window, the room was very comfortable and clean, the food was excellent and the owners were wonderful at providing advice on things to see and helping make restaurant and ferry reservations.

Overall would stay here again in a heartbeat

Every glowing review received by Craig and Kasia is well deserved. The attention to detail, from Craig’s homemade shortbread by the kettles in the rooms to assistance in booking a restaurant in the evening, oozed Craig’s desire to make our stay as memorable as he could The rooms were extremely spacious with TVs in each room as well as a strong powerful shower and very comfortable beds. The breakfasts were excellent and included homemade bread (Craig isn’t the only baker, Kasia, makes the bread), a good selection of cooked items as well as fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereal. The B&B is a few miles out of Portree up a winding road, but the result is a lovely open view south across Portree and the hills beyond. 2013 is Craig and Kasia’s first year of running a B&B but the comfort they offer and care they take in looking after their guests will, I am sure, result in many successful years ahead. lf you find yourself in Skye, give them a call, I will certainly being do so when I return.

Room Tip: If you are someone who would rather sit, rather than lounge on the bed while watching TV or reading...

Conveniently located a few minutes out of Portree but far enough to enjoy unspoilt, rural views. We arrived to a very warm welcome from Craig and Kasia. Both the room and communal areas were immaculately clean, warm and very nicely furnished. Craig made us feel like nothing was too much trouble, he recommended a fantastic restaurant in Portree for dinner and called ahead for us to arrange a booking. He happily accommodated an early breakfast to allow us to eat before catching the ferry to Lewis and what a breakfast! Beautifully cooked to order with super-fresh fruit and rich creamy yoghurt, not to mention the delicious home-made bread. The shower was warm and powerful and the provided toiletries were lovely. We were amazed to discover that Craig and Kasia are new to the B&B business as they run a better operation than most old hands.

Room Tip: They are all great.

The sat nav stops a few houses early but keep driving to this lovely guest house! Modern, light and immaculately kept - the views are amazing! Craig and Kasia are attentive hosts booking us a restaurant in Portree ( The Granary-well
worth a try) and serving breakfast early to suit our ferry plans! The home made bread is fantastic!
This is a lovely place to stay - do try it! We will be back!

As much as the Isle of Skye hid the views we had an enjoyable stay, Room was very spacious and immaculate. hosts were very friendly and informative on what to do and restaurants to eat at. As a new operation owners are really doing a great job.

Room Tip: do make sure you ask for the king sized room, it is very spacious and has a good sized ensuite.
