Impressed by surroundings but disappointed in the wooden cutlery and polystyrene crockery which takes away the appearance of you lovely cakes and buns!
Appreciate it may be the easier to dispose of , but is the cost of repeated provision of these items greater than the initial outlay for 'proper' crockery?

Thank you for your review. As a production bakery we prefer to avoid the impact of breakable crockery. On our menu it explains that we have a considered environmental policy, where by all our disposibles are compostable. They are not as you state, polystyrene - but rather certified double wall Kraft cups with a PLA corn starch lining which breaks down very easily. The plates are made from plant fibre, which again is easy to compost. Liza

Freshly baked bread, yummy cakes. We were only in for a coffee and cake but I wished we were hungrier. There was so much I would have loved to try. Local craftwork for sale too. Its a little hard to find this place but worth the effort......up a side street directly opposite the Shell garage.

Good little coffee shop downstairs. Upstairs lots of beautiful clothing, handicrafts, pictures, artwork etc. Lovely to look at but a bit pricey for me!

Artisan bakery and restaurant tucked away in a corner in Portree - but what a find! Delicious cheese platter with samples of five Scottish Cheeses, home made bread, chutney and oatcakes with fresh leaf salad. Beautifully set out on a wooden platter. Delicious! Well worth the money!

The servers at this small eatery were exceptionally accommodating in helping my husband and I put together a selection of items for an informal takeaway lunch. The homemade stuffed breads were delicious, especially with the several types of jams and chutneys they packed for us. They put together a fresh green salad with a delicious dressing, even though I asked for components that weren't technically on their menu. All in all, we were provided with a tasty and delightfully healthy lunch at an extremely reasonable price! We also enjoyed visiting their small art gallery on the bakery's second floor, and exploring the array of local arts and crafts.
