Excellent B&B, beautiful location, great hosts

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Aug 2016
We had a lovely stay here, the room was excellent, comfy bed, plenty of space, lovely bathroom, everything provided for a comfortable stay - even for our dog. We had a very good evening meal and a great breakfast in the lovely conservatory dining room overlooking peaceful fields with sheep and a lovely view over the countryside to the sea. Andy & Malcolm are good hosts and have an excellent B&B, Highly recommended.

Set on the edge of Loch Snizort, in the old crofting village of Geary on the Isle of Skye, is Mint Croft. As many have said in earlier posts, Andy and Malcom are extremely gracious hosts. They have an incredibly charming home and are welcoming to all their guests. Their location is beautiful and quiet, sheep literally grazing outside the breakfast window for morning and evening entertainment. Their selection of breakfast meals and dinners was delicious! They are knowledgeable of the local area providing recommendations for activities and restaurants, and helped with maps and directions. Their home is updated to be energy efficient, which was rewarding to see. The rooms were clean and very comfortable! And their wonderful dog (Brodie) was a pleasure. She greeted us every time we returned. It was warming to us dog lovers who were missing our pets while on holiday!

What can we say but thank you so much! A lovely review, greatly appreciated, and thanks too to you guys for making your stay here so memorable (in a good way of course!!) and so enjoyable for us. It's great to see the house being used as a 'home' and it certainly felt like that with you all here, and over your 5 night stay it was nice to get to know you all and to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Thanks once again, happy memories (we haven't seen your mole/vole since, by the way!) and safe travels :-)

Thank you for your kind words and we're glad you enjoyed your short stay with us; it was indeed great to meet you all and when one group fills the whole house, it really does become so much more of a 'home' - to both you as the guests, but to us too. Thank you and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip in Scotland :-)

From the first moment we found this place and booked it online, the hospitality and graciousness of our hosts was unmatched. Malcolm and Andy have a refreshingly clear vision of what it means to both run an efficient and easy-to-deal-with business, but also an incredibly charming and welcoming home. The location is rustic and gorgeous (water views, sheep literally grazing not 15 feet from the breakfast window). And their selection of books, knowledge of the local area, and cooking are all splendid. They gave us recommendations for everything from activities to walks to restaurants, and helped with maps and directions at every turn. They even booked a taxi for us one night.

We could not recommend this place more highly. Truly, truly special.

Wow, I'm not sure how to respond to this one! Thank you SO much for such a heartfelt and positive review, and more importantly for taking the time to sit down and write it! It means so much to us both to know that we are 'getting it right' and really and truly, we're just doing what we love most........but to know that you appreciate it as much as you did means so much more. Thank you and hope to see you again if you ever return to Skye.

We spent 2 nights with Andy and Malcolm and would have liked to stay longer. From our first email contact to our actual visit Ardmorn Holiday Accommodation, hosted by Andy and Malcolm lived up fully to our expectations. Highlight of our visit in a not touristy area was a magnificent view over the landscape. Rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable and with all toiletries provided. Andy and Malcolm are excellent hosts and even provide dinner on request. This location is an ideal starting point to get to know the Isle of Skye and if you visit this accommodation you will definitely not disappointed.
We are more than happy to recommend it to family and friends.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this place? It is by far the best B&B we have had the pleasure of staying in. Everything you could possibly imagine is provided, and is done so in true style.

The little touches such as a dog towel & treat, and the fully provision of all shower toiletries really is special. The hosts offer an extremely warm welcome, and even rearranged the furniture in the lounge to suit the guests who wished to watch the football on TV.

Andy & Malc (the hosts) are on hand to provide anything their guests desire; and even provide an excellent choice of alcoholic drinks at really decent prices. We had not ordered dinner with them which was an error not to be repeated. The smells of the delicious cuisine left us wishing we hadn't gone for such a huge lunch...

We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and the views from the dining room really are something else! The breakfast was delicious, and the gluten free options were the best I have tasted.

Our tastefully decorated room was spacious with a huge comfortable bed. We really felt relaxed in there and throughout the house.

These guys really know what they are doing, and it was a pleasure to spend the night at their place. We will definitely return again soon.

Room tip: Just go, you'll love it!
