Lovely stay in the refurbished Minimorn

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 Mar 2017
After two year we decided to visit the Isle of Skye again. Last time we stayed at the self-catering Minimorn of the Ardmore Holiday Accommodation which is conveniently located close to Dunvegan and thus is perfect to explore the northern part of the island. Back then it already met all our needs so we decided to book it again for our stay this time. The place has been completely refurbished during the winter and is even nicer now. Very good kitchen and bath, and (interesting for us staying there in March) the central heating is gold!
The hosts are always there if you need them, but don't impose on the guests. We will be back.

Set on the edge of Loch Snizort, in the old crofting village of Geary on the Isle of Skye, is Mint Croft. The croft, a Scottish term used in the Highlands and Islands to refer to a smallscale plot of arable farming land, features two lovingly restored crofter’s cottages known as The Blackhouse and The Croft House and dating from c.1800 and 1934 respectively.

My husband and I spent a lot of time researching the Isle of Skye for the perfect lodging location and we found it at Ardmorn! This was our first trip to Scotland and the hospitality, personality, and polish exhibited by Andy and Malcolm (and Brodie) did not disappoint. Andy greeted us on our arrival from the Glenmorangie Distillery. He shared the layout of the incredible home. We were thrilled with our bedroom and accommodations. Our room was so quiet that when we saw other guests in the home, we were shocked that anyone else was in residence. There was such a calm to the home. Lovely.
Our meals were the highlight of our stay. Both Andy and Malcolm are insistent that they are not chefs but their meals are nothing short of gourmet. It is our opinion that if you want a real Scottish breakfast, Ardmorn is the location for that treat. We also had dinner one night there and it was spectacular.
Andy and Malcolm were very easy to talk with and very familiar with all the sights of the Isle of Skye. They were so knowledgeable about where to go and what to do on Skye. Our location made all of that so manageable. If you know of someone who is looking for a place to stay on Skye, be sure to send them to Andy and Malcolm. We Americans might just find our way back! ;-)

I stayed at Minimorn, the self catering cottage next to the main B&B, for a week in October. It's ideal for 1 or 2 people (I was on my own), with a decent sized living room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Everything was clean and in good condition, and the owners seemed very friendly but only dropped in once immediately after I arrived, which was appreciated. The location is good and near the main road so travelling to other parts of Skye doesn't take long. The area surrounding Dunvegan is also really nice, with some excellent walks (I saw golden eagles and white tailed eagles not far from the house). I'd definitely recommend it, and may well be back at some point myself.

We were lucky enough to stay at the Ardmorn for two nights in a double room with our dog and had a great time. Tea and coffee on arrival with dog biscuits for the pooch, perfect. The owners were super friendly, great cooks and very knowledgable on the local area, would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely overnight stay at Ardmorn Holiday Accommodation with hosts Andy and Malcolm . Small but extremely comfortable rooms in a beautiful rural setting about 2 - 3 hours drive from Fort William . Very friendly and accommodating hosts - lovely breakfast- and would happily recommend this place ! On booking, Andy and Malcolm gave us great directions to get there ! Worth a visit ! Good area from which to see Skye ! 😀
