“Great Anniversary Weekend”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Stayed here for 3 nights through a Living Social offer. When I booked we were offered an upgrade and was told I could bargain for the price within a price range. The upgrade was to a superior room which overlooked the gardens at the front of the hotel. Place was relatively quiet, staff very friendly and welcoming. Room spacious and 4 poster bed very comfortable which was great as I have a back problem at the moment and find it difficult to get comfortable in bed.
Food was very good although Friday and Saturday's menus were the same.
We'll certainly be back again but not at the beginning of March as so many places eg Dunvegan Castle, Red Skye Restaurant were closed. Most don't seem to open till late March or Easter. However we toured around the north of the island and paln to do the south on another trip.

We had a Living Social voucher for B and B for 2 nights , including dinner on first night and free bottle of wine with dinner on second night- all for £130. A bargain! We liked just about everything about this hotel- beautiful location, helpful and friendly young staff, informal atmosphere, comfy sofas, magazines, real fires, well stocked bar and good food. The sort of place you get talking to other guests over a drink. Some of the decor may be a bit faded, but in a good way! Our large standard room(9) was spotless and comfortable. Our dog liked it too- the Skeabost is a very dog friendly hotel, with plenty local walks. We would happily go back and pay the full rate. For next time- stronger coffee please and turn off the tartan music !

Stayed at Skeabost for two nights and were delighted with the welcome from Elizabeth, who showed us round the various room (dining room, billiards room. lounge and bar). She then took us upstairs to our beautiful room (Boudica Suite) This is a very spacious room with four poster bed, seating area at the window and a fireplace. The bathroom is stunning, with free standing bath and separate shower. The food in the evening both nights was wonderful. They have a great chef. Breakfasts are cooked to order (extensive menu) Having read some reviews we were a bit apprehensive, but we were absolutely delighted. We will be back.

We arrived on Sunday for our 2 night stay we had a wee complimentary dram and were given a tour before been shown our room room 9 with a big sleigh bed a lovely large room with toiletries iron and bathrobes we decided not to upgrade and were very surprised at the size of the room and pleasant outlook on to the grounds the room was in the old part of the house and was very quiet going to sleep with the only sound being of owls hooting as we drifted off. A very spacious hotel with a restaurant a quiet room with a small bar (cocktails were yum) also there is another public bar to the rear of the hotel available at weekends
there is also a conservatory area and a lovely room playing Scottish music in the background with a log fire and very comfy slouchy sofas and the latest magazines there was also a golf course and fishing available and a games cupboard for us less active.
Staff were very friendly and nothing seemed to be to much trouble the food in the Restaurant was nice lovely presentation but could have been warmer and maybe veg cooked a bit longer but I understand that it is personal choice and wouldn't let this put you off I also had potatoe wedges as a snack one afternoon from the bar and found this really nice even had it delivered to my room and found it to be better portion in comparison to the restaurant
The breakfast was really nice I enjoyed the warm croissants and cooked selection and felt it was very good start to your day exploring or resting whilst visiting Skye again with a pleasant background music the grounds are really tranquil and the experience of this hotel was very comfortable and relaxing cant wait to visit again and explore some more of this beautiful island of sheep jams rainbows and Waterfalls and Potterys to name just a few of the may things to see and

Room Tip: If you smoke then the new extension on the hotel as rooms have door to outside so you can pop out f...

Stayed here third weekend in February.
Fantastic location, great welcome from friendly staff, excellent breakfast and just 5 miles from Portree.

Hotel looking a little tired in places, bathroom specification not great and in need of refurbishment.
Housekeeping needs attention, very old dust on dado rail and skirtings.

Would love to see return and see if improvements have been made.

Arrived at Skeabost and received a friendly welcome. Was greeted with a wee dram and was shown to our room. We were in the 'McLeod suite'. The room was spacious and well appointed. Only minor niggles with room...wifi comes and goes in the room but works out on the landing. The toilet takes ages to fill the cistern so not possible to flush if recently used. Breakfast good quality and hot. Dinner less than inspiring! Starter and dessert were good, but the braised brisket I had for my main could have been used as an offensive weapon if loaded into a sling shot! A steak knife wouldn't even cut it. All in all a nice, comfortable base for touring the island, just don't expect Haute cuisine!

We arrived at this cosy country house hotel to be welcomed by Caroline . She very kindly offered us an upgrade and the room was large elegantly decorated with a huge 4 poster bed and a lovely view. We had a drink in the bar before going to the wood panelled dining room for dinner. It was one of the best meals we have had in establishments with many more rosettes. We enjoyed the meal so much we invited some friends to come for lunch the next day. After lunch we sat by a warm log fire and just enjoyed the ambience . Overall a great place for a break . Perfect place to relax and walk around the beautiful grounds. They have fishing , their own golf course and are on the waterfront. The staff are all very professional and courteous and made us feel very welcome. A special mention for Jamie who was very attentive, the chef Ian who can really cook and Catriona who served us a magnificent breakfast each day. Can't wait to return!
