This B&B sits overlooking the sea a short distance from Tarbert in a beautiful setting. We walked back from Tarbert after dinner and it took us around 20 minutes. The owners were very friendly. We stayed in the lilac room which was homely and had a little fridge which was handy. There was a nice, decent sized living room shared by guests with large windows to enjoy the views of the surroundings. Breakfast was fantastic with a huge selection you could choose from and cooked to order. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Very well located for ferry and restaurants in town . Complimentary whisky and sherry a lovely addition to the welcome tray . The breakfasts were wonderful especially as plenty of items were home grown or home made and local . Residents lounge available during the day should the weather turn inclement . Beautiful beaches a short drive away and plenty more interesting places if you travel a bit further afield up through Lewis . Hope to be back .

Room Tip: The blue room had everything we needed and a spacious ensuite shower room

Stayed here for 6 nights in June 2014. This Michelin rated guest house is in a beautiful location just 5 minutes drive from the ferry. The accommodation is very well furnished, clean and comfortable with two residents lounges. The owners are very approachable and helpful. The breakfasts are individually prepared from a comprehensive menu. We cannot speak highly enough of this Guest House.

John and Marlene were excellent hosts and gave us plenty of information to help us to enjoy our stay on the Island. Our room was spotless and spacious with a wonderful view and the complimentary whisky and sherry was much appreciated. The breakfast menu had to be seen to be believed and the food was cooked to perfection. We have no hesitation in recommending Ceol na Mara Guest House.

This is a wonderful Guest House to stay at. The standard of accommodation is exceptional. We had a beautiful spacious upstairs room with fantastic views over the loch. We had the choice of two lounges to relax in, with many books and DVDs. The breakfast was outstanding and the best on our trip to the Outer Hebrides. Marlene's home made muesli and yoghurt speciality was to die for. John and Marlene were excellent hosts who were very friendly. They provided comprehensive local information to help their guests enjoy Harris at its best. Harris is a beautiful place to visit and we hope to return.

We have just enjoyed a very pleasant stay at this B&B. On arrival we were greeted with complimentary whisky and sherry which set the tone for a great place to stay when exploring this fascinating island. Great hosts with a wealth of knowledge of the area. Breakfasts to die for, the "Ceol na Mara special" I cannot recommend enough. It set us up for a great day of exploring this interesting area. This setting was great, the facilities more than you could want. I should finish by saying that we will definitely stay here on our next visit.

Ceol na Mara is at the very top of the range of B&Bs. The breakfast alone is in a league of its own for choice and quality. In fact, by introducing me to the concept of porridge with whisky-soaked sultanas it has changed my life! The exquisite lochside setting was a wonderful surprise, as were the welcoming drams of whisky and sherry. We also liked the well-researched tips of local attractions, including a recommended driving tour with map.
