“Clean and comfortable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 December 2012

Clean, homely, comfortable surroundings and looked after very well. Nice and quiet with well attended staff. Breakfast was supreme with fresh fruit and free range eggs from the owner. Mary took an interest in our plans and subsequent reviews of what we had experienced during our visit. We were within easy walking distance of Bathgate town centre which gave us access to several pubs and eating places. Recommend the James Walker (Weatherspoons) for good value real ale and pub grub.

The house is beautiful and super clean. Our room was nice and big, plently of room for all 4 of us. Beds were very comfy. Breakfast was amazing and very generous. Owner was very helpful with directions and places to go. I normally stay away from B&B's as I have had bad stays but the Gables was super, nice and quiet, not intrusive, we were left to come and go as we pleased and when we got back in the afternoon there were fresh cupcakes in the room which went down well with a cup of tea.

Great place to stay, clean, modern comfortable room topped off with friendly, welcoming personality of Mary and her daughter and a superb breakfast. Close proximity to the railway station and town centre was very handy. We would recommend the Gables to anyone wanting to stay in Bathgate.

Very clean and pleasant bed & breakfast. Large bedrooms and en-suite shower rooms. Handy location for main line station going to Edinburgh (20 min journey). Very pleasant owners. Good breakfast. Thoroughly recommend it.

Room Tip: Front 2 rooms large and airy

Stayed two nights to attend a Family Wedding at the Vu in Bathgate.
A warm welcome was given by Mary the owner. We were in the ground floor room - plenty of space and a nice modern en-suite bathroom. All very clean and tidy. Breakfast served by Mary's lovely, friendly daughter was well cooked, plentiful and fresh - not at all greasy. Service was very quick and nothing was any trouble.
Home made cup cakes on the tea tray in our room were a nice touch.
Well worth recommendation to others seeking a good value, clean and friendly place to stay.

My mother, daughter and I stayed here for one night - We stayed in the family room which had a double and two single beds with and ensuite shower room. The room was comfortable and modern.
The breakfast offered all that you could want and the cooked breakfast was good.
Bathgate itself offers easy location to travel to Edinburgh and Glasgow,

First impressions count or that is what they say. The owner Mary came to the front door to welcome us on our arrival. She was very friendly, took us to our room, which was spotlesly clean (talking about eating it from the floor, we could), then gave us the keys. Tea and coffee facilities in the room, TV and hair dryer provided, for us girls that is a priority. The breakfast next morning was wholesome, we settled for the scottish cooked one. It set us up for most of the day. All in all we will be comming again in September. We would also recommend it to our friends. Many thanks Mary & Co.
