Myself and Brett enjoyed our one night stay at this affordable and welcoming little hotel. We were visiting Bathgate for a friend's wedding and were pleasantly surprised at the quality for the price. We would definitely stay again. I (Bette), luxuriated in the super deep bath as part of my party preparations and this was only bettered by a welcome ans affordable gin and tonic on the sunny balcony. Lovely stuff x

Stayed for a week whilst visiting family. Very nice stay. Staff were excellent and nothing was to much trouble. From the reception staff right through to the housekeeping staff all were helpful and cheerful whenever you met them.

We only stayed here 1 night and it was a good cheap option. We were at an all day wedding nearby so couldn't check in until we got back at 1am as the room wasn't ready at 12:30pm. That was fair enough as the hotel says check in is from 2pm onwards but it led to us only spending about 8 hours in the place.

The staff were friendly enough and never had any issues with them. If I needed a cheap place to stay in the area for a night I would consider it again. Just remember you get what you pay for.

Not sure if we had a room or a cupboard with a bed in it. three couples all stayed here for a wedding at a near by venue, and what a difference in standards of rooms., although we all paid the same rate of £90.
The room 24 is lucky if it was a £25 a night room. Bedroom tiny, bathroom worse.
Only saving grace about the whole place was a half decent breakfast.

Room Tip: Just don't bother

Hi Maurice,
Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am sorry that you did not find our room to your satisfaction. We advise on our website that due to the age of the hotel, some of the rooms are different sizes. We do have different rates for King Rooms and Double Rooms!

I am glad you enjoyed our breakfast and hospitality, as we do our upmost to ensure all our guests and dinners have a pleasant experience, I am sorry you did not enjoy yours.

Kind Regards

Not a pleasant experience. Buffet booked by our company, after a fundraising charity event. Food was sub standard and very sparse, for the money, to say the least, and when several of our party complained to the manageress, we were abruptly told ' we are in the middle of serving in the restaurant' yes appreciate it may have been a busy time - we were the customers though, not our fault.

It is very unfortunate that you felt the buffet provided was substandard and my attitude not acceptable. The buffet that was supplied was for the price agreed when booked. The price paid was greatly reduced and the hire hall was given FOC due to it being a charity event.

I can also confirm that during busy service on Fathers Day, I had to ask the chef to prepare a further tray of sandwiches and a tray of chicken, which was done as quickly as possible during this busy time. We done our best to provide you with more food than what was asked for at short notice, and I had 1 complaint which was shouted at me very rudely for everyone to hear.

We give our hall FOC and try and help as many charities as we possibly can and give generously to many local charities.

Was treated to lunch by my wife today and we went to The Kaim Park (mainly because it was Monday and Yolo was closed). We ordered a panini each accompanied with some cheese nachos and they took 45 minutes to arrive. Now the restaurant was very quiet and when we arrived there was only 4 others in. More did arrive and placed their orders and were served before us. The quality of food was very good but the wait was far too long for what is after all a glorified toasted sandwich. Don't think I'll rush back as Bathgate has much more to offer.

Dear Iain,
I was on shift at this time on Monday and can assure you no one in the restaurant was waiting 45 minutes on food, especially a Panini and nachos. I am sure if you had been waiting this long, you would have shouted on a member of staff to check where this small simple order had gone? and not sat and waited 45 mins as you claim? However, I am glad you enjoyed our food.

We sincerely hope you dine with us again soon.

My wife and I stayed here for one night as we were attending a wedding at a venue in the area. We arrived earlier than planned and as such we were too early to check-in. The receptionist was very pleasant and allowed us to get changed there anyways. The room was adequate and very comfortable; however, there was only one large towel provided. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. There was an issue with payment which arose from an issue with the intermediary website that we used to book, but the staff - and in particular Sharon - were very helpful. We are attending another wedding at the same venue in August and we would definitely consider using the Kaim Park again.

Hi Tony, Thank you taking the time to write your review. Sorry about the 1 towel, if you had asked reception we would have made sure more were left, this was an error from the housekeepers as there should be 2 bath, 2 hand per room.
Thank you for your comment on our friendly staff, which we pride ourselves on as being very helpful and a happy team.
As you advised on your review, the payment issue was not the hotel and was the booking agent, which was rectified.
We look forward to you staying with us again soon.
