“Had a lovely stay.”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

We stayed here for one night, myself, my mum, my brother and his girlfriend. We arrived a lot later than planned, we checked in and said that we were really hungry, we were asked if we were eating in the hotel, we said yes, we were given a table straight away, we had beautiful meal, all four of us really enjoyed it, the service was really good, and the staff were very friendly indeed. We couldn't believe how busy it was. We stayed in the bar for a few drinks we played dominoes, then went on to play pool and darts, we had a really good fun filled evening, the atmosphere was lovely too. I even managed to get some nice photos of the sun setting. I shared the twin room with my mum, the room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Had a look at my brothers room it was smaller but again very clean and comfortable his also had a lovely view.We went for breakfast in the morning, the options available catered for everyone, you could choose anything from yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereal to a personal chosen fry up, unlimited toast and coffee, again staff very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was situated near the loch so you got a lovely view. After checking out we went a few miles down the road and found a beautiful beach, which was just the perfect end to a lovely weekend away.

Stayed in the Poolewe Hotel on 26 July for 2 nights on a B&B basis.

The hotel is lovely, and worthy of it's 3 stars. I believe it's just been renovated & possibly under new ownership. We had a twin room in the annexe (Room 11) and it was lovely. Decent size room, spotlessly clean & well furnished with a nice view. Quite nice being separate from the main hotel. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of selection of fresh fruit, cerals, juices etc and a cooked breakfast made to order. The polish waiter was very attentive & coped well with a busy breakfast room. The guest lounge in the hotel is very nice also, and has pc access & lots of local information leaflets which were helpful.

I can't fault this hotel to be honest. My only tiny little gripe would be that the free wifi didn't work in our room on any devices but it wasn't the end of the world, it did work well in the hotel itself.

Room Tip: Rooms 11-14 are in the annexe and are very quiet.

We had a pleasant enough pub meal here on a very wet summer night, we were glad not to have to travel too far from our B&B. The service was friendly and quick. Pretty standard fish and chips. We shared three sadly forgettable sorbets for dessert.

Rooms simple and comfortable, we were in the annexe which was very quiet at night and I slept very well on a decently comfortable bed. No problems with hot water or showers.

We ate in the hotel restaurant. It was very busy and staff struggled to cope - ordering took a while and we had to send wine glasses back which were dirty. Starters were a bit disappointing but main courses were very good indeed, maybe not the most refined cuisine, but solid hearty home cooked food that was just what we needed.

Bar is friendly, with some good local beers. Next morning we were early for breakfast but no problem, and we had a very tasty & generous cooked breakfast with no lack of fresh coffee, toast and anything else we could have wanted. All-in-all I'd happily return, I'm sure the restaurant staff will have a bit more experience but that was a very minor point anyway!

We had stayed at this hotel before and although the food was not the same, they now do pub food and although it was good I was a bit disappointed. Despite that our room was brilliant, clean and large with a view over the loch. Breakfast was just as good and was given high praise by my husband. Staff were helpful and friendly. When up this way again would stay here.

I think this hotel has recently been renovated. The rooms aren't huge but they are very clean and comfortable with good showers (vital in my opinion). Poolewe is one of my favorite places and the Poolewe hotel would by my first choice for staying over.
Breakfast was lovely and the evening food in the bar was of good pub food quality. Helpful friendly staff who happily provided us with an early breakfast when we had to check out early.

We stayed Fri/Sat nights & had a great time with friendly staff, food was excellent, stayed in the annexe, room was perfect bar........no soap dish in shower, not a biggy, but would have been handy, other than that a great stay was had by us both...highly recommended, definately will stay again

Room Tip: Room 10 in the annexe as it has the biggest window looking out over the loch
