Wonderful place to stay in Braemar. The accommodation was cosy, clean and comfortable. Owner Jennifer was friendly, helpful and nothing you too much trouble. Lovely stay and we will return.

“An Absolute Gem”
Reviewed 23 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We have just spent 2 fabulously happy weeks in the Ivy Bothy. It may be small but is absolutely perfect. It was a great joy to stay there, we were completely delighted with the Bothy. On arrival were warmly welcomed by Jennifer, who showed us how everything worked in the self catering home. The bedding was snowy white as were the towels. The large bed was bliss and we both slept as well as we have done in a long time. We enjoyed the log fire nearly every night but had to turn the central heating off as we would have roasted. The central heating would keep you warm on its own but it was nice to see the flames from the logs. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could want including tee towels. Top quality products in the bathroom. Great outside covered terrace. Jennifer is a delight to deal and the place is a great credit to her. The shops and eating places of Braemar are a very short stroll away. It would be hard to improve on. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday in a stunning environment.

“Absoluetely a gem mid in the Scottish highlands.”

Despite the its small size the studio has everything you need to compliment your stay in Braemar. It is extremely cosy and a great place to relax. The wood fire must be an added attraction when the weather gets colder.

“Perfection!”

We were shown to the perfectly appointed 'bothy' and couldn't ask for more! The little bothy does exactly what it says on the tin, a small but perfectly formed package... with everything you need to explore Braemar and surrounding Cairngorms. Spotlessly tidy, comfy bed, lovely hospitality (baked cookies on arrival!) AND very good value for money... Will be returning and have recommended to my family already! Thanks very much!

“Good things in a small package”
Reviewed 23 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Here we have a studio flat. Everything is clean, modern bright and airy. What is important when staying at a place like this? Shower/WC - yes. Bed - yes. Somewhere to relax - yes. Somewhere to prepare simple meals - yes but it is tight. Add to that a drying room for outdoor gear and a secure place to leave a bike, a small area to sit outside, parking for a big car and all the shops and cafes just a few seconds walk away.

“Home from home”
Reviewed 3 February 2014 for a stay in January 2014

The room was beautifully presented and very clean and tidy. The bed was huge. Even though the kitchen is small I still managed to cook a hot meal each night. We liked the village of Braemar and walked some of the paths around the village. Maps can be bought from the tourist information centre in the village. The pubs and restaurants are close by and the local shops are handy. We went to the Glenshee ski resort to use our snowshoes! We went to the local whiskey distillery. Plenty of things to keep you busy especially if you like walking. Jeniffer was very helpful and made us feel very welcome.
