“Best B&B of our Trip”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

Our party of 5 spent June 5 and 6, 2014 in this delightful B&B while hiking part of the Speyside Way. Our rooms were quite large and comfortable, and the breakfasts were the best we had in Scotland. The house and garden are charming. The area is a little remote, but there is an excellent pub within walking distance and Ruud gave us lifts to the some of the walking trails. What really makes the Bank House special is the warm hospitality of Ruud and Helen - they really make you feel welcome.

Helen and Rudd were welcoming hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was large, comfortable and extremely peaceful. Tea and coffee making facilities were appreciated. Great breakfast. We really enjoyed having a sitting area separate from the bedroom where we could relax, read and even have a picnic on the one night we didn't want to go out. The local pub had excellent food and this was within walking distance. Well located for driving to the distilleries.

Very upscale B&B, close to Glenlivet Distillery. Hosts, Helen & Ruud were first-rate and very attentive! Had large, spacious room with queen size bed. Had beautiful fireplace lounge room with burning logs. Cooked dinner for us at a reasonable price due to local pub being closed. Best French fries ever! Huge private bathroom-shower/tub-with toiletries-close to our bedroom. Well decorated throughout. Very comfortable beds and quiet. Bottled water, shortbread, perfumes in room. Chocolate lab dogs were very well behaved and did not jump on people. I could not access the wifi on my phone which was important to me as my mom had recent major surgery but other guests let me use their ipad.

One of the best B&B's we ever have been in the UK. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Lovely landscape. Totally quiet night in a comfortable bed. Great, individual breakfast in a stylish ambience. Many thanks, Helen & Ruud from Ursula and Wilfried, Stuttgart.

We stayed three nights at the Bank House Bed and Breakfast. It was definitely the highlight of our trip in Scotland and we could not speak more warmly of our hosts Helen and Ruud and their gorgeous chocolate labs Nevis and Finnan. Ruud and Helen are so helpful and friendly and we felt very relaxed and 'at home' in their fantastic house. The rooms were spacious, the breakfast was super, the fireplace always on and Ruud even gave us a ride to the starting point of a great walk in the hills nearby. We can't wait to come back here.

Finding a place to stay in this part along the Speyside walk is not easy - Helen & Ruud couldn't have made it easier! A phone call from Ballindalloch (5 miles away) and Ruud not only picked me up, but offered to take me to the distillery in time for the final tour! After enjoying the tour (and the tasting), Helen took me to the house, which is beautiful. The room was exceptional, modern, and very clean. As there were no local restaurants open that evening, Helen cooked a scrumptious 3 course meal with wine. Afterwards I relaxed in the sitting room with the labradors in front of a log fire. A hearty breakfast, and Ruud offered to take me to wherever I'd like to rejoin the Speyside walk. What brilliant hosts!!

We stayed three nights at Bank House with Helen and Ruud when we were up for a wedding. The house and room were very comfortable, breakfast very good and we were made very welcome. Helen and Ruud were very helpful with a number of arrangements and flexible over breakfast times the morning after the Highland wedding reception! They were both so friendly and did all they could to make us very welcome and feel at home. A great place to stay - thoroughly recommended.
