“Spacious Accommodations, Attentive Service and Great Food”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

My wife and I spent one night here after arriving in Aberdeen following a 16 hour, multi leg flight schedule from the U.S. The Redgarth Inn was the perfect stopover for our trip to the Highlands. The Innkeeper couldn't have been more attentive. Our room was modern and comfortable. The public areas and gardens were well maintained. Our meals were superb. I wish we could have stayed longer. There are plenty of activities in the area, including castles, distillery tours, golf and great walks.

We just had a starter and dessert, both of which were excellent. Lovely relaxed surroundings and the service from what I presume was the owner and waiting staff was excellent and friendly. Fantastic selection of ales/real beer on offer, pity I had to drive! reasonably priced for the type/quality of establishment.

To be honest, when it drove into the carpark I thought I was just going to be in a very plain B&B. What a surprise I got! An absolute peach of a place. Immaculately clean, well heated, spacious modern furnishings. Most hotels of this vintage have a pokey little bathroom - this again was a spacious new en suite with walk in shower.
Food was piping hot, fresh and delicious. I even changed from my normal anti social manners when staying away from home and had a pleasant pint with some of the locals at the bar.
Oh and the view from across to the hills is to die for. Nothing was too much hassle for Stuart who went out of his way to cater for a handicapped guest. Breakfast is continental but fantastic with a wide range of fresh bakery produce and fruit/cereal. You book your time for breakfast and Stuart even phones guests if they haven't turned up at their stipulated time to check they're ok - good if you're on business but maybe ask not to if on hols.
Criticisms? The only one I had is that you have to go outside to walk round the hotel from the rooms to the restaurant. Only about twenty paces but it would be a nice touch to provide courtesy umbrellas.

Went here as a family for Mother's Day. Whilst the service was good, the food was disappointing. The portions were small, there was a lack of vegetables to accompany the dishes and the meat was not of that great quality either. Just didn't wow and wasn't value for money.

Average food but service was terrible we were seated in dining room and was just forgotten about, not once did the staff ask if we wanted more drinks etc we had to constantly ask or go through to the bar. Food was average and items still on menu were not available. Would not return.

A merry dozen of us arrived at 7.15pm for dinner with a mix of English, Glaswegian and local Scots. What a great night. Staff and Stuart, the proprietor served us a great meal with style and panache and give us a wide ranging view on the upcoming independence vote, Super food, friendly staff and a very welcoming ambience with some politics thrown in.
Highly recommended.

Excellent accommodation ,very clean , modern( stayed in rear extension) and of a high standard of finish. The pub/restaurant is welcoming , atmospheric and well used by all around as it supplies a high standard of food and refreshment. Made to feel very welcome , nothing is too much trouble for the host. Would certainly recommend to give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Rear extension rooms very bright and modern. Middle room even has a large balcony.
