Stayed in the Lomond suite for 4nights but 5 days. We arrived on the 30th December and we were greeted by Alistair and Jennifer. Two of the most loveliest genuine good people you could ever meet. We were given a choice of rooms as we were staying a little bit longer than most guest and to be honest ALL of the rooms were a dream . The views from the front and back of this wonderful / homely house are amazing . The comfort of the rooms and attention to detail are second to none. The food was fantastic and because of the time of year Alistair and Jennifer offered special dinners over the Hogmanay . Their food was amazing and choices too . Massive big thank you to Alistair & Jennifer for everything that they done for us and we will be very highly recommending your wonderful place to all . Barbara & Gordon xx

Arrived 30th Dec 2013 for New Year break for 3 nights. Don't know where to start! Fabulous location. Fabulous food. Alistair and Jenifer truly are wonderful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. An example of nothing being too much trouble - arrived needing my grey roots doing, but not had time. Didn't want to see the New Year in looking like a worn out badger. Jenifer to the rescue with a box of hair dye exactly my colour! That's the sort of care and attention you get here. They work so hard to make sure everyone is happy and catered for. Made some great friends as the intimate atmosphere lends itself to making new friends and having fun. You have a beautiful view of the Loch across to Inveraray. All the bedrooms are tastefully decorated. Bowls of fruit available in the beautiful lounge with log fire. Plenty of parking.Very good value for money.

Room tip: Most of the rooms have a view of Loch Fyne.

We stayed in the MacLachlan room which is a relatively small room on the first floor with incredible views of the loch. The owner could not have been more attentive when we arrived and we sat in the lounge by a roaring fire with coffee and shortbread. Jenifer was extremely friendly and we felt very much at home. If we were to be picky at all we would say that the room was not as luxurious as we had expected and the shower room was quite compact (a fact that Jenifer pointed out when she showed us to the room) but we forgave all that to marvel at the view! The bed was very comfortable and we both had a god night's sleep. As the guest house was full on the night we arrived we were very aware of noise from other guests but that is not the fault of the owners merely to be expected with a house full of people. The breakfast was excellent with freshly cooked food and a variety of food available at the cold buffet. We would certainly stay again if we were in the area but would ask for a room on the top floor. All in all - a lovely property.

We spent four days walking and exploring around Loch Fyne last September, and chose to stay at the Thistle Guest House. This was a great choice. This B&B is 5-star. Super position at the head of Loch Fyne in a slightly elevated position with great views. The rooms are big, modern and comfortable with ensuites. The breakfasts are simply super, with local producers used to tempt your palate. You can choose continental or Scottish fare. All fresh and cooked for you. Super hosts who were friendly and interested in what you were doing that day and able then to give advice. There is an enormous guest lounge that has been restored in period and has an open fire really comfortable sofas and TV and computer availability. They have free wi-fi throughout. A super, upmarket B&B, with hosts who are welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

Room tip: All rooms good

My husband and I stayed for 1 night only and had reserved a double en-suite. We were given the MacNaughten room, which was perfect for 1 night. If we were staying longer, however, we would have paid the £10.00/night more and booked a superior. The "cosy" room had a very small bathroom. Functional, but very small. Still, amenities were provided, as well as a kettle, tea and instant coffee and hot chocolate. The property is very well looked after, tranquil and beautiful. The owners are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The quality of their breakfast is absolutely fantastic, full of locally produced goods. We would definitely stay there again. In a bigger room.

Room tip: For more than one night, choose one of their "spacious" rooms.
