Review of Ashbank Hotel
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 1 Sept 2021
My partner was brought up in the village so we go once a year and have never tried the ash bank before but we were pleasantly surprised.
We sat outside where they had a few table and chairs and was made very welcome by the owner and the passer boy’s.
We both used the toilet on different visits and it was clean.
We will definitely go back on our next visit and I’m sure my partner will enjoy all the whiskeys again😜

Sharon and John are exceptional hosts helping to tailor this holiday to our individual needs. Very friendly and relaxed ambience; delicious breakfasts and comfortable socially distant tables. Bedroom had a beautiful view to the coast and a large comfy bed. Sharon was very helpful with tips for local walks and where to eat and book for an evening meal. Thanks to them both for helping us enjoy such a relaxed holiday.

Room tip: Must book nearby restaurants for evening meals. Dottie’s for lunch and Carradale Hotel conservatory for evening tapas meal.

Sharon and John are very welcoming and gave great recommendations for dinner and things to do. Great cosy atmosphere at the bar. The room was clean and tidy. Great place to stay for walking to the beach or Forrest.

Brilliant little b&b , in a little peace of heaven , the rooms were very comfortable and clean , loved the deep bath and my son was over the moon in room 6 with the view over the golf course and Arran, hosts were fantastic and the breakfast was amazing , with the best black pudding we’ve tasted ,we will definitely be back and look forward to seeing you again.

A lovely B&B in the peaceful setting of Campbeltown, with clean and modern accommodation, off-road parking and excellent breakfasts. Very good value for money. Sharon and John could not have been more welcoming and helpful and we'd definitely stay there again. Nearby attractions are a very good pub/restaurant, golf course and quaint harbour. Highly recommended.

This is hotel is more in the nature of being a pub with rooms available.
Bedroom quite small for two people and suitcases. There was nowhere really to unpack and store clothes
Bathroom small with shower with plenty of boiling hot water. No shelf space in the bathroom for toiletries. I had to use the toilet seat for my toiletries when using the bathroom.
Our room had twin beds, which were very comfortable.
Both the bedroom and bathroom were very clean
Generally the hotel was in good decorative order.
There were clear instructions as to how to connect to the wifi. However, I found connecting heavy going and would prefer a simpler password and an obvious network and not a bewildering array of wifi extenders.
Lack of accessible power points to charge a mobile
Need to place kettle on the floor to boil was a danger
The view from our bedroom was over a golf course and out to sea with Arran in the distance.
Well-proportioned cooked breakfast, which we needed to order during the evening before.
Generally we enjoyed our stay and are happy to recommend the place.
