“Absolutely Beautiful”

Very friendly staff, beautiful view, spacious room and large bathroom with large bath and double shower, pool / solarium. Lovely place to stay. We booked through hotel itself as this worked out cheaper than agents.

Room Tip: All rooms seem the same

We checked into the hotel and received a warm welcome by the receptionist. As there were no lifts, she helped us to carry our baggage upstairs. We had a room with a private balcony overlooking Loch Linnhe. The view was just breathtaking and we enjoyed the sunset very much. The hotel was built in 2007 but it was clean and well maintained as new. The coffee house was just next to the lake. Breakfast was simple but good. We had dinners for two evenings and we had only good comments for the food served. The only complain was that there was a dark-haired waitress who was too sharp-tongued. She commented that our friend was too old for happy hours. When we asked to change to a more spacious table, she appeared reluctant and did not help us to move. So we had to carry our drinks and napkins ourselves!

The hotel looks out onto Ardnamurchan and is just lovely. Breathtaking in fact if the weather is just right. We hadn't been for a while, but the service, food and general ambiance was just great. The bed was a little hard for our preference and the room was hot...even with the heating off and the window open. It is fully inclusive if you book DBB.....just select anything from the Menu...no supplements, which is great. The need for staff to wear "pelmet skirts" is totally unnecessary and only disappoints guests who are there for the finer things in life......good food and wine !!!!
We ordered fillet steak, one evening, only to find a steak of questionable origin !!!!, but certainly not fillet. The steak was, doubled over, to create the thickness and impression of a fillet steak, then camouflaged in a pepper sauce, very successfully. However, the chef would have been better, just stating that there was no fillet steak available, that evening, rather than reverting to subterfuge. It was however well cooked....as were the vegetables.

This hotel is situated on the loch , the views are stunning , the food was very good, lots of choice on the menus the staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for us, and the swimming pool was fantastic, we have stayed here a few times and love it, rooms are all decorated to a high standard were very clean and warm, and the view of the loch fab , you won't be disappointed, if you want a quiet place away from it all, this is it.

I have been staying at the Holly Tree Hotel for some 16 years and it continues to improve despite it's expansion.
This hotel does not do as many hotels in Scotland do - there are no extras! No extra charges for a room with a view, no menu extras on a DB7B basis - it's all included. They also remember previous clients and their quirks. Then there is the staff - there may be no obvious management presence but the entire staff are aligned to making clients special - their attention to detail is to be admired and their efficiency and hard work is impressive.
Give it ago if you like seafood - it's their specialty BUT the menu also caters for all tastes - to a high quality.
And, the piece de resistence, What a beautiful location - directly on the banks of Loch Linnhe looking out on the Ardnamurchan Hills - a real pleasure!

Room Tip: All rooms have a view over Loch Linnhe - personal preferences at rooms 1, 2 11,,12

We stayed here for 4 days whilst walking in the Glencoe area. The rooms are comfortable and, along with the restaurant, have excellent views over the sea loch. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food good. Be warned, though, the portions are large. An unexpected find and highly recommended.
