This is actually a really nice guest house, well appointed and comfortable. What sets it apart from most others though is the massive scale of extras Elsie and Drew have created and provided for their guests.
The rooms are lavishly decorated with matching and themed ornaments and fittings, the en-suite is stacked with toiletries, there is coffee and tea in large quantities and varieties, with about a dozen choices of biscuits.
The piece de resistance though was the long breakfast tables - these were packed with every variety of fruit available, home made jam, marmalade etc etc. And not just toast but half a dozen types of bread.
The breakfast menu was just as extensive, with endless permutations and combinations available and listed. The breakfast was pretty good, and did not disappoint.
Clearly the overall intention is to satisfy any whim of the guests, but on a scale that takes your breath away. Elsie - it must be such a lot of work, and so much of it beyond actual requirements.
You could cut back a lot on the scale and variety, and it would still be a lovely guest house that people would be happy to have stayed in.
Would definitely recommend unless you are of a minimalist mindset.More
