We spent the last night our West Highland Way walk here. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. We were welcomed with tea and cake - ideal after the long walk down from Glencoe.

I'd recommend without hesitation.

We spent a weekend in Kinlochleven in Sept 2013 for a family wedding and stayed at the Edencoille. It is a lovely, homely B&B with very generous hosts. We were particularly impressed with the attention to detail, from the very generous offerings of coffee and biscuits, dressing gowns and footspas in the rooms to the great choice of breakfast with fresh fruit provided everyday. Highly recommended.

My husband Peter and I walked the WHW setting off from Milngavie Friday 13th Sept 2013 and on our stay at Edencoille Kinlochleven,( meticulously run by Elsie and Drew) was by far the best accommodation throughout our journey. The Bed was very comfortable, dressed with Dorma bedding and pillows, the en-suite was beautifully kitted out complete with large shower and huge bath not forgetting baskets full with everything one could think of eg combs, sewing kit, body lotion, shower caps, hand cream, shampoo, conditioner, spa lotion (for their foot spa) which I used, an amazing thoughtful item which we hadn't seen on WHW. In our room we had several baskets full with a variety of quality chocolates and also individually wrapped shortbread. Breakfast was amazing there wasn't anything missing from the table and also fresh fruit was available for everyone to take for their journey . Elsie and Drew perpetuates true Scottish hospitality. The cost for overnight stay is exceptional value. Edencoille is a must if stopping at Kinlochleven. May and Peter O'Neill Glasgow.

Room Tip: Kinlochleven, Edencoille B and B is a must. exceptional value, comfort food and hospitality .

We arrived at Edencoile fairly late in the day after a challenging 30 km hike in quite severe weather. Most had been warned off the West Highland Way this day due to the weather but we missed the advisory. The walk from the West Highland Way to the B&B added a few extra km to the 30 km day. We were tired and wet and ready for the hospitality of Edencoile as we read wonderful things in the reviews. We were somewhat disappointed. We were met at the door and rather than being welcomed as the weary travellers we were we were sent directly to the outdoor drying room to shed our wet clothes, pick up our bags and carry them to our room. I cannot stress how wet and tired we were and what felt like an admonishment by the proprietor seemed very unwelcoming. We were told to leave ALL wet hiking clothes in the drying room (a prefab shed with small heater and dehumidifier) which was already full with other traveller’s boots etc. Our guest room was small with two single beds, but very clean with a foot massage soak, a nice selection of teas and thick terry robes, a definite plus! The decor was over the top frill with every tissue box, every toilet paper roll etc covered and laced. Loads of toiletries and baskets of chocolates. The beds were quite comfortable and the tiny bathroom very clean. Breakfast was also excellent and gluten free toast was available, a real plus. The Wi-Fi signal was strong and we caught up on some contact with home. Unfortunately my boots, socks, gloves etc were still soaked the next morning. The inn keeper did offer to put the clothes in the dryer which was great but I was still left with wet boots to hike the 25km to Ft William. A little more attention to the needs of hikers after challenging and wet days would have taken my rating from average to very good. I believe the owners of this B&B honestly want to create a good experience for their guests, but unfortunately fell short in fulfilling two of the most basic needs for these two hikers, a warm welcome at the end of a long day and adequate drying facilities. Maybe they were just having an "off" day. Fair enough. So many of the reviews are so positive. For non-hikers and fair-day hikers I am sure this B&B could offer a good experience.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and may I firstly say that it was such a shame that you experienced the force of the Scottish weather. When you and your friend arrived at Edencoille, you were both absolutely dripping wet, the water was literally running off you and there was no choice but to direct you straight to the drying room. Unfortunately, there is no quick answer to drying boots which are so wet in one night when the water was pouring out of them and it was fortunate that your friend had a pair of spare boots which you could use for your walk to Fort William. It was obvious that you had experienced a tough day and you were a little frazzled to say the least. However, we did try to engage with you and offer you the exact same welcome and hospitality as every other guest. Drew and I try our best to ensure that all guests’ bags are carried up to their rooms but your bags were both so immensely heavy that we would have been in danger of doing ourselves an injury. Contrary to what you say, we do go out on a limb to cater especially for walkers and have done so for many a year and I was more than happy to immediately tumble dry your wet hat, gloves and socks when you brought them down the next morning. We try to cater for absolutely everything but unfortunately long mileages and the weather are out with our control. I hope it improved for you for the rest of your stay in Scotland. Best wishes, Elsie & Drew.

Apart from all the other good things people have said, the help rendered by Elsie's husband when we had a flat tyre, & then the spare was also flat, was amazing. He turned what had been quite a dire situation into one that ended well. Will be forever grateful!
As for the accommodation , the welcoming pavlova was a nice touch, and the bathroom was awesome!

We were overwhelmed with the hospitality at Edincoile and would highly recommend a stay there. The breakfast was fantastic as was the accommodation. With the sore legs we had from the West Highland Way, Elsie even drove us down to the local restaurant and picked us up afterwards...then we had the foot massage bath at night when we returned (very welcomed...!). Hello Stan, many thanks for your lovely review and kind words. It was a pleasure to run you to the local restaurant, we could not have your legs becoming any sorer when you still had to walk to Fort William! The foot spas are always enjoyed by the walkers so we are glad that it helped your feet recover for the next day. Warm regards. Elsie & Drew.
