The Horseshie Inn is a fairly bog standard pub/inn. £50 per night was pushing it a little for the room. The room was fairly basic and a bit dated but provided a good nights sleep and considering it is above a pub and we stayed on a Saturday night there was no noise disturbance. The food in the pub is good pub grub. The big positive for us is that it is dog friendly and doesnt charge extra for it. Although it doesnt have many bells or whistles it is a good, honest Highland Inn.

We stayed next door to the inn, at the self contained accommodation called the stables. Everything you could want even a washing machine was provided, and the property was kept to a very high standard. Great location for exploring and walking plenty of places to visit, Had a couple of drinks in the bar and found everybody friendly, would recommend staying at the stables and will stay again.

GQuaint village very picturesque. The horseshoe inns staff couldn't have been nicer, very accomidating and excellent with the my kids, they loved Megan the pub dog. Food was great and no small portions. Room was just right everything we needed and tv with dvd player was great for kids at night. Would recommend the inn no end thought it was great value for money and great surroundings

We stayed at The Horseshoe Inn for one night in August 2011.
We were met by a very pleasant man who could not have been more helpful and who showed us to our rooms etc.
We had lunch in the bar which was not outstanding but perfectly adequate.
During our short stay we were served at the bar by an extremely rude, brusque and unhelpful woman who seemed incapable of the most simple pleasantries even please and thank you were out with her capabilities.
In the morning she gruffly told us that we should be out of our rooms by 10am and there was no breakfast available as they stopped serving at 9am! (Sunday morning)
You can imagine my amazement when I later found out that this woman is not some poorly trained hired help, SHE'S THE OWNER!!!
Beautiful area, great friendly local people, smashing pub but this terrible woman would turn milk sour and is an embarrassment to Scottish hospitality.

The front page of our website and the notices in the rooms clearly states breakfast 8 - 9 AND ALSO that we are happy to vary this given prior notice. We often do breakfast at 6:00 am for people shooting or 9:30 when requested. YOU DID NOT request a late breakfast, you took your dog for a walk at 9:45 and only asked about breakfast when you checked out at 10:45 by which time the kitchen had been switched off and the dining room cleared. The notices in the room ask that the rooms be vacated by 10:30 this is to allow us to clean the rooms before we open again at 12:00.
Had you asked politely the evening before about a late breakfast and a late checkout we would have arranged it.

The converted stables accommodation at the Horseshoe Inn is an excellent property, loads of space, full kitchen including washing machine and a modern bathroom with a separate double bedroom and sofa bed.
BUT...... when we arrived it wasn't very clean, there was dog hair over everything and when we folded out the sofa bed a lot of dirt had fallen through the cushions. I borrowed a vacuum cleaner from the bar and rectified the situation.
All this property needs to be perfect is a good clean!
The owners/staff were very friendly and the food at the Inn was some of the best we had on our holiday, the Horseshoe Inn is perfectly situated to explore the amazing area around Kilmartin.
