The landlord and landlady had to be away for the day but told us where the key was, etc, and so we let ourselves in. We had the room in picture six and it was lovely, utterly spotless and, much to our hosts amazement we actually spent a whole day doing very little as we were rather weary from all the touring we had done. We could not have been more comfortable, oh and the breakfast was good too.

Great location, friendly owners, lovely touches like homemade cake and fresh milk for tea/coffee plus one of the best breakfasts I've had. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, great selection of magazines. It was the perfect place to start my exploration of Ardnamurchan. Definitely do the short walk through the nearby ancient oak wood - magical. All in all very highly recommended.

We stayed three nights here and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Pippa and John are wonderful hosts with an extensive knowledge of the surrounding area and the abundance of wildlife to be found nearby. Our room was lovely and contained everything we could have wanted including an amazing view across the fields and hills. The breakfasts were delicious (the best kedgeree I've ever had) and Pippa's cakes are to die for. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in or near Strontian, look no further!

Room Tip: We had a downstairs room at the back which enabled us to sit up in bed and admire the view!

Beautifully located high on hill in Scotstoun above Strontian itself. Wonderful open views of Ardgour hills. Very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable room. En suite shower room with large walk in shower. Excellent Home baked cake on tea tray daily. Excellent breakfast with hen and duck eggs from grounds. Out of town location means necessary to drive to Strontian for pub/hotel dinner. A nearer option in a cafe? Is also possible but it would be an uphill walk home! Not an issue for us and we would return to Heatherbank. We received a weekend discount whic reduced the listed tariff and made this high quality B and B good value.

I've just returned home after a fantastic week in the caravan at Heatherbank. The floor to ceiling windows made for great viewing in the evening, whether watching the wildlife or the changing colours as the sun set. It's in an amazing location, and the caravan is of such a high standard, it was the best of both worlds, far enough away from 'civilisation' but with great accommodation to return to. Pippa and John were always there if I needed any advice. I used the caravan at Heatherbank as a base to walk in the hills and also to visit Eigg, an island offshore, it's ideally situated for loads of activities, I just can't recommend it highly enough, and I will be back!

We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way back from the Inner Hebrides and would certainly stay again. The rooms were delightful - spotlessly clean and well appointed. Cake on arrival each evening was most welcome - and the breakfasts superb. Plenty of choice and all freshly cooked. Go for the kedgeree! Fresh duck or hen eggs are available for sale, so be sure to take some home with you. Just two minor niggles: the mirrors in the two bedrooms we had were too far from the electrical sockets, making hair-drying a bit hit and miss. And why did a twin bedded room have only one chair?

Room Tip: All rooms have en suite facilities, but those for room 5 on the first floor were on the ground floor...

Thank you for your kind and helpful comments. I absolutely agree about the mirrors - it's something that always irritates me when we stay somewhere and although we had checked them all some time ago we must have forgotten to do so again after we rearranged all the new furniture. I have it in hand! With regard to there being only one chair in a twin room we decided to give guests the extra space by not crowding it with furniture. There are, however, two folding chairs and tables in the wardrobe. It's good to have your feedback - stops us getting too complacent!

Stayed 3 nights. The views from the bedroom windows (room 1) were marvellous. The location is perfect to explore the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. Breakfasts are perfectly prepared every time (try the Duck eggs) , freshly baked cakes available each time you return to your room. Double bed was a little hard and the small thin Bath towels were surprisingly below the luxury of everything else which was of excellence throughout. Would stay again and recommend it to friends.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you found the towels thin. We are gradually replacing these and you must have had some of the older ones for which I apologise. The reason we use bath "towels" rather than bath "sheets" is in line with our environmental policy on which both Visit Scotland and Tripadvisor are very keen - it uses more energy to launder bath "sheets". We hope this won't put you off visiting us again in the future.
