“A lovely break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014

A very warm welcome at this small hotel in the highlands. We stayed in the suite at the front of the hotel with lovely views across Loch Sunart. Fresh scones in our room on arrival, good breakfasts and evening meals and a cozy bar, what more could you want?.

Stayed one night in this fabulous in a magical location by the loch. Michelle and James were more than willing to look after us and our bikes keeping them in their locked garage.
The view from the double room overlooking the loch was stunning and didn't break the bank at all.
The food was very nice and the little bothy bar was quaint and comfortable.
Great place.

Room Tip: try to get one of the rooms overlooking the loch.

just returned from a week in Strontian village, what a stunning place, and despite the weather in early march, our evening were always brightened up by the lovely little "bothy" bar at the Strontian Hotel, where the local resident were the most friendly bunch you could wish to meet. We were made to feel most welcome, and our ageing boxer dog Vinnie became somewhat of a celebrity. Altogether a very nice pub/bar with very polite and attentive staff (Damien) and villagers/locals. Oh we did have a "fish and chip take out" one night from the restaurant, and perhaps the freshest and nicest fish we've ever tasted. look forward to our nest visit to this stunning piece of Scotland. Tony Lesley plus Vinnie the boxer dog xxxx

We spent two nights here as we needed to get away from it all after a traumatic personal time. We were the only ones in the hotel for the first night and it was just like being at home. Michelle and James were absolutely tremendous hosts, couldn't do enough for us. The food was tremendous, even though the restaurant was technically closed to non-residents. Log fires in the lounge, which made us fall asleep - absolutely fabulous. Thank you Michelle & James
We will be back.

Room Tip: Overlooking the loch

Stayed in the Strontian Hotel for business and was very impressed with the excellent customer service and cosy accommodation. I have eaten in the Strontian before and found the food to be incredible quality, and was not disappointed this time, despite the restaurant being technically closed. Sweet potato soup was delicious, and the portion of fish and chips was enormous for the cost.

Will definitely try to stay in the Strontian again!

Room Tip: If you are after a view, try to choose a room facing the Loch side

We are local to the area and ate here for the first time last weekend and were not disapointed! Lovely freshly made food at very good prices and plenty on the plate....what more do you need? Owner came out to meet us and ask if everything was ok which was nice. Lovely warm room and great views. We'll be back soon!
